god is only used for statistical purposes.
If you are 
interested in generating nodes movement simply use the 'setdest' 
command, ignoring god. E.g.

$ns_ at 10.0 "$node_(0) setdest X Y S"

where X,Y are the coords of destination and S is the speed (in m/s).
