Yes, its very correct that you need to delete the object file and then
make. If still it doesnt work try running make install at the end.

hi Thavouth Khoun,
actually make clean delete all the *.o file.
i think that you should type make install as a root after you had typed
make.

Hi Thavouth

Once you made changes in mac-802_11.h, then try to save mac-802_11.cc also.
Once you done this, try these commands:

make clean
make
sudo make install

Hi all,

I'm wondering if I use the correct commands.
I modified mac-802_11.cc and mac-802_11.h
then I go ns-2.33 directory and run make clean and make,
but it seems no effect from it.

Some said that after make some changes in *.h file, correspond *.o file must
be delete.
Is it right?

Best regards,

Thavouth K.

Hi all. here's what worked for me.

I had to remove the bin directory and reintall ns. Once I reinstalled,
any of the make clean, make depend, make or ./configure, make
clean, make worked.

Thanks for all your responses

 Hi,
Here are my two cents, perhaps one of the following could be the problem:

 1. Perhaps you are not executing the make/make clean commands in the right
directory, you have to do it
 in /ns-whatever/ns-2.31 directory or
 2. You are not calling the right protocol in your tcl script file e.g. you
made some changes in TORA.cc but
you are calling AODV in your tcl script file.

 Hope that helps.

 ./configure

 Good luck
