[Nssbackup-team] [Bug 515449] Re: some oddities

2010-02-14 Thread robert leleu
I stay in a curious situation.
1/ I have not been able to use the bzr pull
2/ Aptitude say that nssbackup is not installed
3/ there is nssbackup directory in /usr/local/bin/ which apprently houses the
nssbackup
4/there are the config and restore guis in the usual position in the menus
5/ the config gui shows a convenient configuration, with standard daily
planification
6/but the planification does not work, only the Save now works

[Nssbackup-team] [Bug 515449] Re: some oddities

2010-02-10 Thread robert leleu
sorry for the time elapsed, I have been busy with music
I uninstalled from synaptic, and checked that it has been done.

Now the gui shows the correct configuration, without any reinstallation.
I'll wait one day to see what happens, and report.

[Nssbackup-team] [Bug 515449] Re: some oddities

2010-02-03 Thread robert leleu
The problem is in the gui

I put a copy of this old config in the program repertory, and got a
backup by running nssbaackupd:

le...@portable-leleu:/usr/local/bin$ ls
nssbackup.confnssbackupd nssbackup-upgrade-backups
nssbackup-config-gui nssbackup-restore-gui
le...@portable-leleu:/usr/local/bin$ sudo ./nssbackupd

this last command made the successful backup.

2010-02-03 Thread Oumar Aziz OUATTARA
I tried to reproduce using the same config as you and I didn't succeed
(with the development version).

Can uninstall nssbackup deb package, update the branch and reinstall
nssbackup ?

To update the branch, go to the branch directory (that you created in
comment #7 ) and launch :

bzr pull

then do

make
sudo make reinstall

[Nssbackup-team] [Bug 515449] Re: some oddities

2010-02-02 Thread robert leleu
Merci beaucoup.
I did not understand that this blue FAQ #945 was a link.
So I did (I hope I did correctly) anything as explained, and when finished went
to a terminal in /usr/local/bin, and ran sudo nssbackup-config-gui (this is a
fresh file, just installed) but the result was exactly the same as reported
when opening the bug. This nssbackup found my present configuration, but that
seems normal.

By the way I noticed that among the prerequisites pygnome, pyglade, pynotify
and fuse are not listed by the synaptic windows, which seems odd for a newbie.
Apparently pygnome stands for python-gnome, pyglade for python-glade, pynotify
for python-notify, and fuse for fuse-utils, ..that's not obvious!

I think that this is because your configuration has been borked by the
last version. Can you pastebin your configuration (after removing any
 password or sensitive data ?
 http://pastebin.ubuntu.com/

 And give the link here.
here the link: http://pastebin.ubuntu.com/367462/

yes, it's not, I have written these that way to be OS agnostic cause on
some others system they are not called the same way as in Ubuntu. I have
updated the INSTALL file for Ubuntu.
thanks for the clarification, I go on learning!

Thank you.
What I can see in this configuration is that the backup is to be made with
illimited size and no compression.
Can you reuse the UI and set the splitsize to 4GiB ? then retry the backup ...

I see compression field empty, active and split field unlimited, active.

I select 4 GiB and save, then Backup now.
Receive message corresponding to terminal line:
SBException: Pour le moment, la fonctionnalité de découpage n'est pas
compatible avec la compression !

Then again, the gui display active empty compression field, active 4GiB
split field.
(I take a copy of /etc/nssbackup.conf which show
splitsize = 4096000
config file I could paste if you require)
I select none compression. The split field turn to empty . I save, and
take a copy /etc/nssbackup.conj, which show
splitsize = 0 (could paste it of course)

I had also a look at the nssbackup.conf.example file, and found that in
my conf(s) there is no format lineso while you are considering my
message, I'll try to add one.
