[NTG-context] alpha version low level english

2004-08-30 Thread Hans Hagen
Hi,
I uploaded the upcoming release,
 http://www.pragma-ade.com/context/alpha

This version is low level english (commands, keywords, values). It is possible that some functionality is not working, but as far as i can see most should work as expected. If you find low level dutch in the source code, (1) if it is dramatic, let me know asap, (2) if it's just an indirect command, collect them first.

For Taco: you need to adapt your m-* modules! (I'll send you a script that will make it a bit more comfortable, but some manual work may be needed).

Hans

Re: [NTG-context] metafun manual

If you'd like volunteers to proofread the finished version, I'd be glad
to help with that.

My main request is the addition of an index, but I presume that was
already on the to-do list.

the topic as how to define and use user defined functions / macros / procedure
could have some more explanation / samples.

This might indeed be helpful, if the metafun manual is intended as a
complete guide to both metapost and metafun (replacing the old metapost
manual). My recollection is that the manual has very little (if any) on
how to use suffix variables, and it would be nice to have a good
overview of that somewhere other than the metafont (!) manual.

also a suggested way as how to handle and use the definition of
multiple (different) graphics within a single file could be helpful.
e.g. where to put the graphics definitions. how to re-use pieces of
graphics for other images (like axis frames).

Agreed, although that's actually fairly simple (which is probably an
argument _for_ including it, rather than against).

[NTG-context] \setupinteractionscreen and translation failure

2004-08-30 Thread Mojca Miklavec
Since my last MikTeX update
(pdfeTeX 3.141592-1.20a-rc7.1-2.1, ConTeXt 2004.8.15) the line
\setupinteractionscreen[option=max]
doesn't have any effect any more (the same .tex document as before
produces diffrent output - I can't get the whole-screen output any more).

*** *** *** *** ***
The second question concerns the translations of ConTeXt support for
some other languages. I've added Slovenian translations to
'lang-sla.tex' and added a couple of lines to 'cont-usr.tex'.

However: I don't know how to enable it. I tried with
texexec --make --alone --all,
but it complains:
 Undefined control sequence.
 argument \??la \s!sl \c!status
 ...
 l.108 \c!status=\v!stop]
Did I miss any other files, did I make any mistake in my translations,
is there any other command to be executed first? Or maybe just any of my
local files or settings corrupted?

I also don't know what exactly to do to fully support the three special
letters (and their uppercase equvalent) , (\v{c},\v{s},\v{z},
...). In 'cont-usr.tex' I simply copied
\installlanguage [\s!sl] [\s!mapping={il2,ec},\s!encoding={il2,ec}]
although I have no idea if it is correct or not.

In LaTeX I use \usepackage[cp1250]{inputenc} (or latin2 or utf8,
depending on the operating system and editor), but \useencoding and/or
translate=cp1250cz in ConTeXt seem to have no effect (they do work for
German , but not for our strange signs).

Thanks a lot,
Mojca Miklavec

That's Great !!

Would you plan to release a Chinese version? I am glad to be a volunteer translate for
that.
