Yes (texexec works perfectly without Metafun)
I had a problem with multiple versions wich I'v not yet solved.
If I am only with the texlive version,
I can do the
texexec --make --alone --all en nl uk metafun mptopdf
(in /usr/local/pack/tex/texlive/texmf-var/web2c)
And all seems ok.
But I don't get basic Metafun exemple to work.
So, for now, T'll stay with the (partialy) working texlive distrib,
(I can do LaTeX, ConTexT and Metapost :-)
but I should think to change my full latex organisation to be able
to use my own context distribution, but it should not interfere
with the working latex distrib.
I could adopt the 70 Moctet standolone context distrib for
osx + linux if I can use it near the LaTeX standard distribution.
So, thank you very much for your help, but I'll have to
try again later,

OK, it looks as if ConTeXt not knowing to use your fonts. (The other
source of error would be that pdftex cannot find your .pfb files, the

sans and roman don't sound right to me. Try

\setupbodyfont[ss,yourfontname] or use \ss in your text or (is
this a serif or sans serif font?) use serif instead of sans.

I have tried the three of your propositions:
First : keeping sans:
1. using \ss works
2. \definebodyfont[ss,Karat] does not.
Second : changing from sans
3. Changed all refs to sans into serif in my typescript file karat.tex.
This works too.

Now, my font is a sans. What is the best way to configure it ?
Is Context configured to use serif by default when u type any text ?
Many thanks.

Not necessarily. You probably should stick with the Context Way.

However, can you tell me how to use the gather environment using amsl so
that all equations in the gather environment are numbered and labeled,
where each can be referenced separately in the ensuing text? Is this possible?

I'll see for the centering issue.

Definitely. That's the whole point of the gather environment. Otherwise,
why not just use align? The whole point is to gather a group of equations
as a unit and center each on its own line.

[NTG-context] How to set matrices with amsl

2004-10-27 Thread David Arnold
All,

This loses the one:

\usemodule[amsl]

\starttext

\startformula
\left(
\startarray
1\\2\\3
\stoparray
\right)
\stopformula

\stoptext

And this chokes completely with the error message that follows:

\usemodule[nath]

\starttext

\startformula
\left(
\startarray
1\\2\\3
\stoparray
\right)
\stopformula

\stoptext

Error message:

ERROR: Undefined control sequence.

So, what is the correct way to use this array command? Can someone give
some examples of its use?

[NTG-context] Tables

2004-10-27 Thread David Arnold
All,

If I want to learn to typeset tables the Context Way, there are many
references, some old and out dated, some new?

Where should I start (documentation) so that I am working with tables in
Context in the most current up-to-date manner?
