Hi Hans and Hartmut, thanks for the information. I looked at the type-akb.tex file and found that the fonts phvb8t, phvbo8t, phvr8t, and phvro8t are used. [NTG-context] Context 2005.01.31 Vietnamese UTF-8: lossing characters
Hi Hans all, Just update to 2005.01.31 for my tetex-2.99.11. I do step by step following minstall.pdf. A simple test with vietnamese utf-8 encoding shows me that a lot of characters were missing: \ahook \abrevehook \acircumflexhook \ocircumflexhook See the comparing page : http://nguyendai.org/pub/compare.html Pdflatex + Unicode package give me all characters correctly. The sources, PDF are available at http://nguyendai.org/pub/ I don't know if I'm wrong some things when updating context ? I downloaded pdftex 1.20b and tried to build from source, but no matter
what syntax I try, whether as root or as an ordinary user, I fail to get
pdftex to recognize the main texmf tree:
I'm doing

and I get

Winging it by pretending /usr/local/teTeX/share/texmf is correct.

I posted to the pdftex ml a few days ago, but, I guess, not being a
subscriber, messages are not posted to the list, so I thought to ask
here. My ConTeXt is in my ~/texmf tree, and if it's possible not to
install an entirely new tex system, that would be preferable.
Also, the are the Use of unitialized string value... messages related
to this problem?. I had difficulties when trying to update ConTeXt about
a month ago because of the old perl that was on my system, so I've
recently updated to 5.8.

Hi, A question about the texsync script: running ruby -S texsync.rb --force --list gives me TeXSync | TeXSync | fetching list of trees from 'www.pragma-ade.com' rsync: failed to connect to www.pragma-ade.com: Connection refused (111) rsync error: error in socket IO (code 10) at /home/lapo/packaging/tmp/rsync-2.6.3/clientserver.c(94) TeXSync | available trees: TeXSync | TeXSync | I've read the texsync manual but I'm not sure what else I have to do with rsync to get a connection to Pragma-ade.
