That refers to the "booktabs" LaTeX package and the accomanying docs
that setup/describe conservative table settings.
It shows some interesting considerations, but I find most settings
not only oldfashioned but a matter of taste (indents, different
line widths etc.)
ah ... you're in sync with tufte; btw, once you've read his books you never dare 
to use rules and such again -)

i've implemented a mechanism to process graphics 'kind of runtime' so that one 
can use for instance svg; think of proper caching of converted images, document 
dependent transformations, etc. For the svg conversion I use inkscape; of course 
it's all subjected to testing -)

I apologize because I swear I just saw the answer to this, but I can 
not find it in my achieves. Is there a way, or work around, to place 
pagenumbers in a \cite? For example, see (T. Hoekwater, 1994, pp 
12-14). I have use (I think) \cite[pp 127-129]{key} in Latex, what I 
would love though is in ConTeXt to use \cite[hoekwater94{pp 123-129}] 
to get {T.Hoekwater, 1994, pp 123-129).

I have a paper I am trying to meet the these guidelines on

[NTG-context] bib translation

Hello out there,

in a bibliography created by Tacos' module I have something like this:

Knuth, D. E. and Plass, M. F. (1999). Breaking paragraphs into lines.
In Digital Typography, pages 67â155. CSLI Publications. UrsrpÃnglich
publiziert in Software â Practice and Experience 11 (1981), 1119â1184.

But now I'd like to have 'und' instead of 'and', 'Seiten' instead of
'pages' etc. What is the suggested way to do this?

Small comment: this package seems to be missing the type-sto.tex file.
Otherwise, it's really nice.

A general suggestion--you might experiment with the [special] typescripts
in type-spe as a way of loading the mathcollections.

[NTG-context] a small typo

IMHO type-dis.tex should contain the line:

  \definefontsynonym[il2-lmtti10] [csitt10]  [encoding=il2]

instead of bad:

  \definefontsynonym[il2-lmtti10] [cstti10]  [encoding=il2]

-- the difference is in csitt/cstti font name.

No problem, there are several windows users on this list. But I don't
know which distribution is currently preferred. MikTeX?
 

I can't speak for any other distribution, but MikTeX is practically 
mindlessly easy to install and maintain.  And it seems to work.

http://www.miktex.org/ You should be able to produce ConTeXt documents
out of the box when installed properly.

I would definitely not recommend MikTeX. Sooner or later, if your 
projects are growing, you run into the error:
 ! TeX capacity exceeded, sorry [hash size=35000].
and MikTeX does not provide a way to increase hash size.

In your page, section "Customizing TABLE"

sub-section "customization options": the table "Possible options for
setuoTABLE" has some typo :)
width= --> set height ?
"set" & "sets" ?
