Hi Hans,

The last two lines (well, it has only three lines) of m-narrowtt.tex
should be

\definetype  [n\v!type]  [style=\narrowtt]

[NTG-context] ConTeXt installation problem using i-installer(v 2.85)

2006-10-31 Thread Dalyoung Jeong
Dear all,

Yesterday, I updated ConTeXt using i-installer(V 2.84).
It worked fine with XeTeX too. I am able to make presentation using
ConTeXt + XeTeX which was not possible before.
Today I tried to update ConTeXt in Mac located in school. At this
time, I used the upgraded i-installer(V 2.85). But it didn't ask me
the permission(no Authenticate window). So it couldn't have a write
permission in the directory /usr/local/teTeX/. I got the warning/
error message, "/usr/local/teTeX/share/texmf.local is not writablle.
I cannot change a nonwritable TeX. Bailing out...". Hence I couldn't
install ConTeXt.

What do I have to do to complete the installation?

Thank you.

[NTG-context] xmldir : hyperlinks not working

2006-10-31 Thread olivier Turlier
Hi every Context lover/user,

I came to using xmltools for building an long (boring) list of
folders&files, with the idea of sharing a cdrom with "automount"
niceties (shellexec.exe & autorun.inf telling to open the generated pdf).

The problem is that xmltool apparently ("skip" certain portions ?) don't
"recognise" or "retranscribe" a full path, i.e if a real path is
root(K:\MESDOC\COURS\05-TEB~1\000_ZI~1)\01-at1-repres_graphic_gene\01-s8910-metre_infra\cours-ppes-metre-go-0506.pdf
firefox answer that (//media/cdrom0)/cours-ppes-metre-go-0506.pdf. is
unreachable

.tex file for creating xmldir.xml :

\useregime[il1]
\enableregime[il1]
\useencoding[ffr]
\mainlanguage[fr]

\executesystemcommand
% {texmfstart xmltools --dir --recurse
--root=K:/Mesdoc/cours/05-teb-0506/000_zip-tout
--pattern={*.pdf,*.xls} --output=xmldir.xml}
{texmfstart xmltools --dir --recurse --pattern=*.* --output=xmldir.xml}

-- command for making pdf from xmldir.xml :

texmfstart newtexexec.rb --autopdf --pdf --mode=colorscheme-red --xml
--use=dir-01 --pdf xmldir.xml

(I've tried also :
texmfstart newtexexec.rb --autopdf --pdf --mode=colorscheme-red
--root=K:/Mesdoc/cours/05-teb-0506/000_zip-tout --xml --use=dir-01 --pdf
xmldir.xml
: without success)

--

TIA for any answer

Why doesn't

\doglobal\appendtoks\setvalue{#2}{#2}\to\simplifiedcommands

line in the definition of dodocomplexsynonym do this automatically?

Re: [NTG-context] mptopdf problems

2006-10-31 Thread Aditya Mahajan
Hi Thomas,

You can also try

texexec --mpgraphic file.mp

AFAIK, it should be equivalent to mptopdf, if not better. It creates a
temporary tex file, with

\setoutput[pdftex]
\setupcolors[state=start]
% Some lines for font maps
\starttext
\startTEXpage
\convertMPtoPDF{file.1}{1}{1}
\stopTEXpage
\startTEXpage
\convertMPtoPDF{file.2}{1}{1}
\stopTEXpage

% etc

\stoptext

So, in the end you get a single pdf with each figure on different page.

Disregard the message; I just updated ConTeXt with Gerben's latest
installer package, and the problem is gone.

[NTG-context] mptopdf problems

2006-10-31 Thread Thomas A. Schmitz
Hi all,

I'm struggling with a new installation here on my MacBook. One
problem I have is that mptopdf bails out when I have textext code in
my mpgraphics. There were a couple of similar problems in the mailing
list a while back, but no real solution. When I compare the
mpgraph.log output from this new install with the output from a good
installation, these are the diffs I get:

-(/usr/local/teTeX/share/texmf.local/web2c/natural.tcx)
**test-mpgraph.mp
(test-mpgraph.mp
-{randomseed:=33}
-write0 = `test-mpgraph.mpo'.
+{randomseed:=3203}
-write0 = `test-mpgraph.mpt'.
+! Extra tokens will be flushed.
+
+   @@@
+ ...font [MyAGaramondPrempnum,11pt] "@@@
+  string.contextversion
+graphictextdirective->...graphictextstring&(TEXT0)
+  &CRLF;
+
+   ;
+l.19 string contextversion;
+
+? x
- [1]
-metafun 2006-10-30 22:30
- )
-1 output file written: test-mpgraph.1

 From what I've understood, metapost seems to be calling the wrong
text (tex instead of texexec), but where can this be fixed? The
configuration on both installations is identical (write 18 enabled,
identical cont-sys.tex).

Thanks

Thanks for the reply, Aditya. Your fix appears to work; now, I get a
proper index again.

> Did you try texexec.rb? The message looks to be coming from ruby.

I am, in fact, using the ruby script; I just find the --version
output of the perl variant much clearer; that's why I use it just for
verification of the formats etc.

Thanks again!

Re: [NTG-context] formula, bookmarks and misc

2006-10-31 Thread Wolfgang Schuster
Hi Sebastian,

2006/10/29, Sebastian Rooks <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>:
Dear ConTeXters,1/ I would like to use a named formula with a reference containingseveral subformulae each with a reference. The closer I can get to is to
add an empty namedformula followed by subformulae (see test file below).How can I get rid of the empty line with a number in the pdf ?2/ I'm using bookmarks but abbreviations in heads do not work properly.
I've used a workaround some 3 years ago but I cannot remember which. Anysuggestion ? (see test file below)

\setupinteraction[state=start]
\appendtoks \def\UK{UK} \to \simplifiedcommands
\placebookmarks[chapter,section,subsection]
\abbreviation [UK] {UK} {United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland}
\starttext
\chapter{Weather in the \UK}\dorecurse {2} {\input dawkins \par}
\stoptext
3/ What should I do to get the bookmarks numbered with theirchapter/section/ etc. number ? (see test file below)
4/ How can I redefine the \vec command in my formulae without having awarning "system  : command \vec is already defined"5/ I do like a lot the minimum distribution so easy to install. It would
be even better if bibtex can be added. It's only 82.8 KiBThanks for ConTeXt (special thanks to Hans and Taco of course), it'sreally a pleasure to work with it.Regards,Sebtest.tex
