Re: [NTG-context] selectively turn off captions

Auctex automatically recognizes plain tex vs latex vs context files by the first few lines in the file. The main time when that method does not work is when starting a new file. Since almost every tex file I make these days is a ConTeXt file, I set the default for that case by using this .emacs line: (setq TeX-default-mode 'context-mode) -Sanjoy `Not all who wander are lost' (J.R.R. It's technically possible to change it? Sure, you just have to define your own typescripts and install the fonts (eg bluesky version). There are some howto's out there for installing postscript fonts in ConTeXt (see the wiki: http://wiki.contextgarden.net/Fonts ), and make sure you take optical scaling into account (my article discusses that). The only thing that I've noticed is that bluesky cmr seems to be hinted better and looks better on-screen at certain sizes than the lmr postscript fonts. OTOH I see no reason for using cmr. For all practical purposes lmr IS cmr. If you find an area where there is a substantial difference, I'd like to see it :-) Best wishes Idris -- Professor Idris Samawi Hamid, Editor-in-Chief International Journal of Shi`i Studies Department of Philosophy Colorado State University Fort Collins, CO 80523 -- Using Opera's revolutionary e-mail client: http://www.opera.com/mail/ ___ If your question is of interest to others as well, please add an entry to the Wiki! maillist : ntg-context@ntg.nl / http://www.ntg.nl/mailman/listinfo/ntg-context webpage : http://www.pragma-ade.nl / http://tex.aanhet.net archive : https://foundry.supelec.fr/projects/contextrev/ wiki : http://contextgarden.net ___
