[NTG-context] Old-Style numerals command (\os) breaks conversion of hyphens to dashes

2020-09-20 Thread Art Chimes
I have a fairly large document, 50-60 pp, with lots of numerals,
including hundreds of dates. I wanted to see how it would look with
old-style numbers and I assumed I could bracket the whole text section
of the document within braces and apply the \os command. I didn't turn
out as I expected, however. It did convert the numbers to old-style
digits. But it also unexpectedly changed the em and en dashes back to
hyphens, as they were entered in the source .tex document.

MWE follows below.

I could possibly do a search-and-replace but I am hoping there is a
simpler way to do it.. I am using Libertinus Serif (which does support
old style numerals) and columns, if that matters. Thank you.

\starttext

First two examples: Brackets surround text including digits, grouped
hyphens are {\emph not} converted to en and em dashes.

{\os
Ford--Chevy 12345

Chrysler---Plymouth 67890
}
\blank[line]
Next two examples: Brackets surround just the digits, the grouped
hypehns {\emph are} correctly converted to en and em dashes

Honda--Toyota {\os 12345}

Renault---Volkswagen {\os 67890}

[NTG-context] issue with interaction=all and \insertpages

2020-09-20 Thread Pablo Rodriguez
Dear list,

I have the following sample:

  \setuplayout[page]
  \setupinteraction
 [state=start, color=, contrastcolor=, focus=standard]
  \enabledirectives[references.border=red]
  \setupexternalfigures[interaction=all, method=pdf]
  \setupinteractionscreen[option={portrait, paper}]
  \starttext
  %~ \insertpages[http://gaceta.rsme.es/abrir.php?id=1495][width=0pt]
  \insertpages[GacRSocMatEsp.pdf][width=0pt]
  \stoptext

I have some issues with it.

1. For some strange reason, the first \insertpages command with a remote
file cannot deal with the interaction from the file (no internal or
external links).

2. The local file includes internal destinations to page parts. After
imposition, destinations to page for internal links cannot reach the
page parts as links in original document do.

3. Even external links are converted. On last page,
https://www.cs.umb.edu/~offner/files/pi.pdf is rewritten as
https://www.cs.umb.edu/õffner/files/pi.pdf.

Besides the rewritten link, would it be possible that links are added so
they reach the same destinations as their source PDF document?

Many thanks for your help,

Pablo

 Current state (v. 2020.09.18 20:32):
 Some progress: Footnotes are still as wide as the image they belong to (in
 both versions), but in LMTX some footnotes are missing.
>>> mwe missing

\setupfootnotes[
  width=\textwidth,
]

actually fixes that problem. Ouch.

Didn’t find a setup that changes the alignment, though.

setuplinennumbering should do that but i suppose we can make it nicer

I found another problem with captions in floatcombinations: They are always
bottom-aligned to each other, so that the distance between image and caption
differs. This is the same in current LMTX and MkIV.

Unnumbered headings can be produced with \startsubjectlevel

By the way, is there a reason for the existence \startstructurelevel next to

Regarding the width it’s still the same MWE (slightly adapted), apparently not
related to floatcombinations but a general problem of footnotes in captions;
couldn’t reproduce “some missing” in an MWE yet.
