Re: [NTG-context] White Space in Running Headers
The following gets me close to what I am looking for. Adding \setupinterlinespace[1pt] seems to suppress the addition of space between the lines of the header. Changing the interlinespace only seems to have an effect above some threshold related to the font size. For example, changing 1pt to 3pt has no visible effect. Changing 1pt to 10pt adds space between the first and second lines only. Changing 1pt to 100pt adds space between lines 1/2 and 2/3. I would prefer to have precise control over the space between the lines, but I can live with this (it is much better than the large spaces which appear of you remove the \setupinterlinespace declarations). This still leaves the problem of calculating the header height provided in \setuplayout so that body text is a set distance from the header for arbitrary font size, number of lines, and text contained in the header. Thanks, Neal \starttext \setuppapersize[letter] \setuplayout[topspace=0.20in,height=10.60in,header=28pt,footer=0.32in,headerdistance=0.03in,footerdistance=0.03in,backspace=0.3in,width=7.90in] \setuppagenumbering [location=] \define\headerframe{{\framed[frame=on,strut=no,offset=0.0pt,height=fit,width=7.9in,align=middle]{{\switchtobodyfont[24.00pt]\setupinterlinespace[1pt] ee\par} {\switchtobodyfont[10.00pt]\setupinterlinespace[1pt] ee\par} {\switchtobodyfont[24.00pt]\setupinterlinespace[1pt] ee\par \setupheadertexts[\headerframe][] This is the body text. \stoptext On Wed, Dec 3, 2014 at 10:06 AM, Hans Hagen pra...@wxs.nl wrote: On 12/1/2014 9:57 PM, Neal Lester wrote: What is the best way to obtain precise control over the space between lines in a multi-line running header. [NTG-context] Page Numbers in TOC; setuplabeltext
In the table of context for my documents, I would like Chapters to have page numbers with alternative=c. However, my Appendices are not paginated so I do not want them to have page numbers in the TOC. Since (apparently), Appendix inherits from Chapter, each Appendix is listed in the TOC with leading dots and page number 0 regardless of what I put in \setuplist [appendix] when using \placecontent or \completecontent. So I tried creating my own head (based on title) and list. Placing this list under the TOC gives me the effect I want (Appendices are listed without dots or page numbers). Unfortunately, setuplabeltext doesn't seem to work on my newly defined head. I've tried all manner of variations like: \definelist [myappendixlist] \setuplist [myappendixlist] [pagenumber=no,alternative=b,label=yes, conversion=Character] \definehead[myappendix][title] \def\appendixlabel#1#2{Appendix #1: #2} \setuphead[myappendix][command=\appendixlabel] % \setuplabeltext [en][myappendix=Appendix~] \newcounter\myappendices \long\def\myappendix#1% {\ifhmode\unskip\fi \doglobal\increment\myappendices\relax \high{\myappendices}% \expanded{\writetolist[myappendixlist]{\myappendices}}{#1}} 1) Is there a way to suppress the display of Appendix page numbers in a TOC while retaining alternative=c for Chapters? 2) Assuming the answer to (1) is no, how do I enable display of labels in my custom defined head? Re: [NTG-context] Installation Problem

When I try to run texexec against the test file given in the installation instructions I don't get a dvi or pdf file. The output is: What instructions did you follow, precisely? I see some problems in your output, but it will be easier to explain using those instructions. I followed the instructions at: http://www.pragma-ade.nl/general/manuals/minstall.pdf First I used the TeX that came with my Linux distribution (RedHat Enterprise Linux v4) but that didn't work (perhaps it was too old). Then I installed teTeX ( http://www.tug.org/tetex/ ) which came with an old version of context that got in the way. I removed that old version and installed the version from here ( http://www.pragma-ade.nl/context/current/cont-tmf.zip ). Thomas Esser has (apparently just) announced that he will no longer be maintaining teTeX. Which version of TeX do you recommend I install?
