Re: [NTG-context] Missing modules crossref and pararef

2019-04-15 Thread Zenlima

Hi Hraban,

As lonely wiki pages your module documentation gets overlooked, you might have
linked them in https://wiki.contextgarden.net/References.

Thanks for the suggestion... done it.

And yes, I never was into including my modules into the context-minimal
distribution, but this incident made me realize that I should have. So I like
to add them now. But that will be a seperate post.

Greetings,
Haeske

(Sorry,.. missed an important AND and screwed up the meaning of the sentace :D )

Hi,

I am AND the great help of the mailing list that time are the developer of that
two modules. The two modules are used on a daily base with MKIV without any
issues. So why do you want to delete them?

I see the old module download got deleted.. I will provide them somehow later
today and get back about this.

\startParagraph is dangerously close to (MkIV core) \startparagraph ...

That was done by purpose that time - and why is it dangerous for you?

Interesting, I never heard of these modules. But they were for MkII anyway and
long gone; their wiki pages are from 2012, and I don’t know the user Zenlima.
What do you want to achieve? It’s probably possible without those modules.

In general: If you dont know something does not mean just delete it. My
suggestion is to contact the developer of that modules first and ask for
changes or updates. I am pretty sure that if you provided own work to the OSS
world you are proud of it and does not want it be deleted respectlessly.

Ok that said: of course I like to update and better the modules - that is just normal software evolution. So please tell me, what part of that modules are mkii leftovers.

Thanks
H.

[NTG-context] Font (roboto) and math font - error

2014-08-27 Thread Zenlima
Hi,

I am switching all my docs to the roboto font as I just like the
look of that font. During this I ran into a problem with \item:

In my example: as soon I enable any of the two \definetypeface lines I
am running into that error.. even if I only enable the math font.

[NTG-context] setuplayout with duplex - shifted textarea

2013-10-14 Thread Zenlima
Hi,

I have a both sided document in which I have to switch the layout
inside a page. If I do that with text only content it works fine, but
as soon I have bigger objects (like a table) the textarea get messed
up (shifted horizontally).

I added in this example inner and outer margin notes to make it more
obvious.

Is there a way so solve this unwanted shifting like on page 2 of the
attached example?

Thanks,
H.

Re: [NTG-context] Different font variants (normal condensed, light regular bold, etc.)

2013-07-11 Thread Zenlima
Thanks Wolfgang,

your example works. :)

For understanding I tried to make the example script-name independent,
so it doesn't fix my environment onto one specific script (see attached
files). But there must be some secret naming conventions.. then I guess
and entered a command to switch to the roboto-typescripcollection.. but
I guess wrongly. Are all secret (font) naming conventions somewhere
documented?

I think the limitation of font-dimensions decreases the reuse ability
of context/mkiv a lot. Also I found some thoughts that were made in the
context community some time ago:

http://meeting.contextgarden.net/2010/talks/2010-09-15-mojca-fonts/some-thoughts-about-typescripts.pdf

Is there any progress in that direction with context/mkiv?

[NTG-context] Different font variants (normal condensed, light regular bold, etc.)

2013-07-09 Thread Zenlima
Hi,

I am trying to define the different variants of the Roboto font ([1]
for sans and [2][3][4][5] for serif).

Now I am trying to define this for context but I have no idea how to
define the condensed versions (plus how to access it later). And how
do I enter and access the different weights next to regular and
bold (light, thin, heavy)? And how to define the weight
light as default (instead of regular)? I got so far:

[NTG-context] Chapter number in list colored (setuplist)

2013-07-09 Thread Zenlima
Hi,

I want to color the chapter number in the table of content. The
attribute numbercolor does not exist in setuplist. So I tried to
color the chapter number via numberstlye (numbercommand is also not
working):

---8

\define[1]\listChapterColor{\color[bordeaux]{X #1}}

\setuplist[chapter][color=black,numberstyle=\listChapterColor]

8--

The X appears in the new color (bordeaux), but the chapter number is
still uncolored - same color like rest of that line (black).

What am I doing wrong here?

 2. You didn’t test numbercolor.

You are correct: after my mistyped try'n'error I did not checked it
any further as the documentation in the wiki. I updated it with that
missing attribute.

I ran into one error and one problem during building a part as two
columns into the toc.

1. Extra line: I am getting an unwanted extra empty line at the bottom
of two columns with an even number of total lines - with an odd
number of total lines no extra empty line appears. How can I get rid
   of it? (see attached example)

2. This error only appears only with \placecontent[criterium=local] in
combination with a beginning line of \writebetweenlist; with a global
\placecontent and \writebetweenlist it works fine. To reproduce this
uncomment the line %\placecontent[criterium=local] in the attached
   example.

(Sorry that I was not able to make the example shorter, I needed some
meat to fill the toc for the showcases)

Thanks,
H.

[NTG-context] [***SPAM***] heading in margin - strange extra vertical spaces

2013-05-04 Thread Zenlima
Hi,

I want to display the lowest heading in the outer margin. But as soon
the simple text becomes a heading, a strange extra line appears on top
of the margin.

In my minimum example below the first paragraph shows how it should look
like in the pdf-file; the second paragraph is with a heading in the
margin.

Can anyone tell me,

a) how to get rid of the unwanted extra vertical space?

b) Why is the line-break in the margin of the second paragraph
different than above?

Thanks,
H.

Re: [NTG-context] setupformulas reset not working

Thanks, that explanation makes it a lot easier :-)

\formulaparameter is a command to access the values of the keys for
 the \setupformula command, e.g. \formulaparameter{spacebefore}
 results in “big”.

[NTG-context] setupformulas reset not working

2013-01-17 Thread Zenlima
Hi,

In my work I have standalone formulas and formulas inside a paragraph
(see idea of module pararef). For standalone formulas the default
settings are ok. But for the formuals inside the paragraphs I need to
change the afer- and beforespaces. So I have to change the spaces
before and after a formula often.

Unlucky \startformula[spacebefore=...,spaceafter=...] is not working.
So I try to achieve it via the big setup function:
\setupformulas[spacebefore=...,spaceafter=...] - not nice but it works
(except that strange space \formulaparameter).

But now after that paragraph I want to reset the spaces of
setupformulas. In the file strc-math.mkiv says that the spaces are
defined like this:
...
c!spacebefore=\v!big,
\c!spaceafter=\formulaparameter\c!spacebefore,
...
So I tried after \stopformula to reset the spaces with:

\setupformulas[spacebefore=\v!big,spaceafter=\formulaparameter\c!spacebefore]
and

\setupformulas[spacebefore=\big,spaceafter=\formulaparameter\spacebefore]
but both failed.

Is there any possibility to reset the spaces of setupformulas? And what
kind of space is \formulaparameter?

[NTG-context] mkiv: Charis SIL / SmallCaps

2013-01-17 Thread Zenlima
Hi,

I wonder how to make that the font Chris SIL
(http://scripts.sil.org/cms/scripts/page.php?site_id=nrsiid=CharisSIL_download)
displays its Smallcaps. I checked the font with fontforge and it really
contains the Smallcaps and also the smcp table.

But for whatever reason I cannot get context to show the smallcaps. I
tried an example out of this mailing list:

\definefontfeature[smallcapitals] [smcp=yes]
\definefontfeature[oldstylenumber][onum=yes]

%\setupbodyfont[pagella]
\setupbodyfont [charissil]

\starttext

{VA abc \setff{smallcapitals} VA abc}
{VA abc \addff{smallcapitals} VA abc}
{12345 \setff{oldstylenumber} 12345}
{VA {\kap VAabc}}
{VA {\cap VAabc}}
{VA {\CAP VAabc}}
{VA {\sc VAabc}}

\stoptext

In the above example I only get smallcaps with the \kap and \cap - but
then also the big letters are transformed into smallcaps :-(.

With pagella is works fine - but not with charissil. What have I to do
in order the get the smallcaps to work with context?

Thanks,
H.

[NTG-context] Desperate help needed: Formular numbering and List of Formulas

2012-12-16 Thread Zenlima
Hi,

I am closing my dissertation (finally) but I had to realize that
subnumbering of formulas is still not working in mkiv. Unluckily going
back to mkii is not an option for other reasons. For that I really need
help to bring back a fully working formula numbering.

I searched the entire wiki and mailing list for possible examples and
put all in one test file - I got non to work but maybe I also made a
mistake somewhere. Additionally I wrote everything on my talk
page of the wiki:

http://wiki.contextgarden.net/User_talk:Zenlima

If every method has to be fixed my priority is the \NR[+][c]-method.
Maybe someone can give additionally hints how to get a proper list
of formulas.

I attached the test file with its pdf result in addition to the wiki
page.

Thanks

Re: [NTG-context] Desperate help needed: Formular numbering and List of Formulas

2012-12-16 Thread Zenlima
Hi Andreas,

thanks for your example.. I also got it to work - so my desperate case
is half solved. I added it also to the working cases:

http://wiki.contextgarden.net/User_talk:Zenlima#align_-_subformular_.5B.2B.5D

In order to prevent unnecessary frustration I added a warning at the
two related math pages.

I tried to extend your example with named subformulas in different ways
but as a result the numbers vanished or the table of formulas messed
up. Also I found the note in str-math.mkiv that a rewrite is needed.

[NTG-context] Suggestion for formula numbering

2012-12-16 Thread Zenlima
Hi,

as of actual need I summed up all kinds of formula numbering - some
basics are working. You can find this list on my user talk page:

http://wiki.contextgarden.net/User_talk:Zenlima

As I also found a note in str-math.mkiv that it needs to be rewritten
and the example syntax which leaded me to confusion in the past, I
worked out a suggestion for a more intuitive syntax for formula
numbering.

In sum it ends with:

All three commands:
\NR
\placeformula
\formualanumber
will share the same attributes:
* sublevel (maybe better: formulalevel or just level?)
to define and concrete the (sub-)level of the formula
* listlabel (maybe textlabel? the numberlabel is still needed)
to add a entry in the list of formulas
* reference
just a classic reference in order to link to it
so that the syntax is more intuitive during the writing.

Also. this way the commands:
placesubformula
placenamedformula
placenamedsubformula
startstopsubformulas
subformulanumber
will become needless.

For the why and examples please look at:

http://wiki.contextgarden.net/User_talk:Zenlima#Suggestion_for_new_syntax

I hope you will find parts you like and feel free to add your
opinion. :-)

[NTG-context] bug?: component inside component

2012-10-13 Thread Zenlima
Hi,

I tried to recompile a book (no project file, 1 product file, many
component files) the first time for a while - but now it breaks with
weird and random error messages.

It starts when I have a component inside a component.. but only when I
have more than just a few pages text. And is stops with e.g. a missing
bracket, one bracket more than needed, math module missing etc etc.
It is definitely not one of the reported errors.. and the error message
changes as I add or remove some text (letters, paragraph).

Also I realized that references over components borders don't work
any more (they link to an external document: componentname.pdf).

Is this a known bug? I found some remarks regarding broken
references over component borders. Does there exists any other way of
integrating tex-file into tex-files for context?

I will continue trying to isolate the error.. but atm it tricks me
pretty well.

Thanks in advance
H.
