 Change this in font-ini.mkiv:

 %\unexpanded\def\getscaledglyph
 #1#2#3{{\setscaledstyledsymbolicfont{#1}{#2}\doifnumberelse{#3}\char\donothing#3}}
 \unexpanded\def\getscaledglyph

 Better use \ConTeXt or \CONTEXT, \Context is only a variation of the logo

Hans, could you please fix this in stable version that is on CTAN as well?

Highly unlikely. Sorry, but a borked \Context macro does not classify
as a major bug. Not big enough to warrant a new release, in any case.

TL 2011 is usually fixed for bugs manually.

also, one can add such a patch to the cont-new.mkiv file if needed
(which will get replaced with an update then)

true from almost ten years
see page 37 of pdf cont-enp.pdf 3.3 page composition (the page of
pdf, not those printed on document)

 To reproduce: create a document with a few paragraphs of text. To make the
 problem more visible, use \showlayout. On the right side of the page, there
 is about 0.5 cm gap. When the PDF is opened in Inkscape, we can see that the
 lines produced by \showlayout are outside the page on the left side.
true and it's ok, because you are using the default
\setuppapersize[A4][A4]
Try
\setuppapersize[A4][A3]
\setuplayout[location=middle]
\showlayout
\starttext
\input knuth
\stoptext

 It happens on live.contextgarden.net as well as on my windows machine with
 the minimal context distribution.

 The problem does not occur in plain luatex.
here I don't understand you . Are you using context mkiv ?
 The problem happens with pdftex engine as well.
here too I have some problems . Are you using context mkii ?
 I tried viewing the PDF in multiple viewers.

 As this is an important problem, I suspect you are already aware of it, but
 I couldn't find any notice about it.
true :-( Maybe we will collect the answer here and then update the wiki

Of course... can be a bug .

[NTG-context] ConTeXt bug?

2006-01-17 Thread Gerben Wierda

Have a look at this file:

\definefont[SectionFont][SerifBold sa b]
\setuphead[section][style=\SectionFont]

\starttext
\LaTeX

{\bf \LaTeX}

\subject{\LaTeX}
\stoptext

The \LaTeX in the subject is wrong. Something wrong the the \LaTeX

Perhaps, but there is no way ConTeXt can get this right. In
the equivalent situation in LaTeX, it gets its own logo wrong:

  \documentclass{article}
  \begin{document}
  \font\SectionFont=cmr10 at 20pt \SectionFont \LaTeX
  \end{document}

Use \switchtobodyfont if you want a consistent environment.

\starttext

  \Context\

The first letter of the logo is roman; the rest of the logo is typewriter.

Why?
