[NTG-context] CtxTools problem

2007-05-03 Thread Keith McKay
I'm having a bit of a problem when I run

texmfstart ctxtools --update

The output is given below.

texmfstart ctxtools --update
CtxTools | updating F:/isoimage/usr/local/context/tex/texmf-local
CtxTools | fetching cont-tmf.zip
CtxTools | extracting cont-tmf.zip
CtxTools | fatal error, make sure that you have 'unzip' in your path
CtxTools | unable to extract cont-tmf.zip
Exit code: 0

I'm using the standalone version on WindowsXP.
I use 7-Zip as my zip file tool and have that in my path. I set this
through windows control panelSystemAdvancedEnvironment variables. I'm
beginning to wonder if make sure that you have 'unzip' in your path means
something else?

Any tips?

you can try

Just copy unzip.exe in the 'bin' directory of TeX.

Re: [NTG-context] CtxTools problem

2007-05-03 Thread Zhichu Chen

Hi Keith

You don't have unzip in your path. I've met the same problem first time I
use Hans' minimal context distribution on Windows. Then I download a
gnuwin32 version of unzip from:
http://gnuwin32.sourceforge.net/downlinks/unzip-bin-zip.php
and I extract the files under /bin directory to $where I extract Hans'
wincontext$\usr\local\context\tex\texmf-mswin\bin
Then it's OK now

There already exists a file 'gunzip.exe' in the
...\context\tex\texmf-mswin\bin directory. You can rename this file into
unzip.exe.
Even better: maybe Hans could rename this file already into unzip.exe in
the standalone version.

 Any tips?

 you can try

 http://gnuwin32.sourceforge.net/packages/unzip.htm

Just copy unzip.exe in the 'bin' directory of TeX.

[NTG-context] CtxTools update problem solved

2007-05-03 Thread Keith McKay
Thanks Peter, Zhichu and Syste

I tried Peter's suggestion of renamining the gunzip file to unzip but got
the output below. It didn't extract the cont-tmf.zip due to an invalid
option but did continue on. So I tried Zhichu and Syste's suggestion and
that worked great.

Thank you all for your helpful suggestions.

Best Wishes

[NTG-context] ctxtools unix puzzles

2006-11-01 Thread plink
Hi,

is it possible that the ruby script version numbers are not always updated?

I am getting a 648 line diff file when I compare two different 1.3.3
versions of the ctxtools.rb file.

One of them, the smaller and older one, had some problems with quotes
around environment variables, and it couldn't really upgrade the system
because of a problem with unzip and execute permissions on texmfstart.rb

The other one has the same problem with execute permissions on
texmfstart.rb, ending in the *slightly* dutchified report():

unable to remak formats

Or is there a way to call texmfstart.rb from the unix stub files without
giving it execute permissions?

i dunno, but ruby pathtotexmfstart ... should work since then we're talking
about text files
