[NTG-context] metafun not working
hi wolfgang and all,
I did configured the pstoedit as you said and
generated new metafun.mem.
Compilation of makempy complains of
process aborted : invalid 'texexec --batch -- once
--interface=en --pdf' run
I did check pdftops as per requirement of mmakempy.pdf
manual. pdftops.exe is not available in miktex/bin/.
what does the error message point at. do I have to to
install pdftops.exe. or configure from somewhere else.
gsview 4.7 does not provide pdftops but pdftotxt3.exe
I am attaching the makeMPY generated file.

Hello, I have problems with this graphic too. First I noticed that I don't have pstoedit installed on my computer. I downloaded version 3.40 from http://www.pstoedit.net/pstoedit. When I now run this MP code I get a Windows (xp) errormessage: Unhandled exception in pstoedit.exe (STDDRIVERS.DLL): 0xC005: Access Violation. But I get the graphic rendered. Any suggestions? Generated new metafun.mem and udated at localtexmf/miktex/mem directory and texmf/web2c directories. MY makempy still complains about pstoedit is unrecogonised internal or external command. I assume you are working under windows. I did install the new kpsewhich and texexec send by
mr. Hans Hagen and installed pstoedit.
updated the mem file and pdfetex.efmt using texexec
--make --alone en metafun. still the problem exits
except that the MakeMPY stopped complaining about
pstoedit is not recogonise internal or external
command. can you help me out.
The mp graphics opened so error message as bonding box
as 0 0 0 0.
can any one help me the get the correct method?

Hi all,
I did install the new kpsewhich and texexec send by
mr. Hans Hagen and installed pstoedit.
updated the mem file and pdfetex.efmt using texexec
--make --alone en metafun. still the problem exits
except that the MakeMPY stopped complaining about
pstoedit is not recogonise internal or external
command. can you help me out.
The mp graphics opened so error message as bonding box
as 0 0 0 0.
can any one help me the get the correct method?

Hi, When this sort of thing happens, I usually run each step manually to see what goes wrong. So, can you check if the MP-mpgraph.mp file is ok? Thanks for the hint. I never thought about installing pstoedit. I just noticed long time ago that I was unable to make such fancy things, but I thought I was simply to stupid to understand the manual :(. thanks for not blaming the stupid manual -) :) .. pstoedit.exe - Fehler in Anwendung Die Anweisung in 0x00aee797 verweist auf Speicher in 0x. Der Vorgang read konnte nicht auf dem Speicher durchgeführt werden. .. Seems like someone had problems using pointers in C, but I don't know. here i have the following versions: pstoedit pstoedit: version 3.33 / DLL interface 108 (build Jan 6 2003 - release build) : Copyright (C) 1993 - 2003 Wolfgang Glunz pstoedit: version 3.40 / DLL interface 108 (build Jan 6 2005 - release build) Probably this is the problem? Maybe I can try with an older version, but I don't have it. I tried with 3.31 which resides in CTAN, but this is not compliant any more with the new version of gs. I tried a conversion ps - mpost with some random file and with filename-mpgraph.1 and it worked OK. I can't reproduce crash except by running texexec on the posted document. gswin32c --help AFPL Ghostscript 8.51 (2005-04-18) I had 8.11 and replaced it with 8.51, but no difference. It crashes only in the first run. The second run goes OK. Once I run texutil --purgeall, it crashes again. For more information, see c:/gs/gs8.51/doc/Use.htm. Report bugs to [EMAIL PROTECTED], using the form in Bug-form.htm. I doubt that the problem lies in GS, but everything is possible.. If anyone would like to test the version 3.40 on the posted document and if there are downloading problems, please mail me. I can get no older version to test.
