This mailing list is very active, with both advanced as well as basic
questions. In fact, even experienced users can still ask basic
questions.

It appears that you have managed to download the Standalone on Windows.
Keep at it! (and don't be afraid to ask questions if you don't find the
answers on the wiki, in the documentation, or on this list).

i think it could be of interest to others since it would help to make an 
up-to-date installation instruction. many google results seem outdated 
and even on contextgarden there are multiple installation instructions 
that in the end don't help me with my problems...
