No sign of the immature Purple Gallinule as of 1130am that was seen earlier in the week at the north end of Rockland Lake S.P. There were some American Coots, a Pied-billed Grebe, a Ruddy Duck, a few Palm Warblers, and a few Swamp Sparrows. [nysbirds-l] Harris’s Sparrow, Hot Dog Beach, Suffolk County
A Harris’s Sparrow is currently being seen at Hot Dog Beach on Dune Road in Quogue, Suffolk County, found by Mike Cooper. It is presently foraging in the grass along the brushy edges of the lot at the southeast corner with a mixed flock of sparrows.
