Re: [nysbirds-l] Staten Island Black-necked Stilt Update - YES
Observed also from 4:10 pm to 4:31 pm in same area. As Jeff observed yesterday, the bird was resting when I first arrived. It started to feed in a channel just as I was ready to leave, disappearing behind a small "island" of iva and phrags. Sweet bird! I happened upon the Mew Gull in Brooklyn in it's favored location this morning at 9:30 a.m., and it was still there actively preening when I left at 9:50 a.m. It was on the rock outcropping, not the grass just beyond the pedestrian bridge.
