[nysbirds-l] Jones Beach Red Pharalope: Yes
My dad, my brother, and I saw the Jones Beach Red Pharalope this afternoon. It flew into the pond in front of the blind between the nature center and the West End parkinglot around 11:50 and was still there when we left, about twenty minutes later. -- NYSbirds-L List Info: http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsWELCOME http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsRULES http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsSubscribeConfigurationLeave.htm ARCHIVES: 1) http://www.mail-archive.com/nysbirds-l@cornell.edu/maillist.html 2) http://www.surfbirds.com/birdingmail/Group/NYSBirds-L 3) http://birdingonthe.net/mailinglists/NYSB.html Please submit your observations to eBird: http://ebird.org/content/ebird/ --

[nysbirds-l] Brooklyn, NY: Red-necked Grebe
This morning I saw the Red-necked Grebe reported by Anders Peltomaa yesterday, in the water directly behind the IKEA in Red Hook, splitting its time on either side of a long concrete pier, with two cranes at its end, that extends away from a large, three-sided IKEA sign. There were also a few Horned Grebes in the area, as well as some Red-breasted Mergansers, Buffleheads, Coot, Gadwalls, and Brandt. -- NYSbirds-L List Info: http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsWELCOME http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsRULES http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsSubscribeConfigurationLeave.htm ARCHIVES: 1) http://www.mail-archive.com/nysbirds-l@cornell.edu/maillist.html 2) http://www.surfbirds.com/birdingmail/Group/NYSBirds-L 3) http://birdingonthe.net/mailinglists/NYSB.html Please submit your observations to eBird: http://ebird.org/content/ebird/ --

[nysbirds-l] Prospect Park Prothonotary Warbler
There was a Prothonotary Warbler this morning and afternoon in Prospect Park. The gentleman who told me about it when I reached the park said he had seen it at Rick's Place. And while I missed it there, it did land in a tree in front of me, while I was on my way out of the park, along the path running next to the Ambergill (around 12:30). -- NYSbirds-L List Info: http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsWELCOME http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsRULES http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsSubscribeConfigurationLeave.htm ARCHIVES: 1) http://www.mail-archive.com/nysbirds-l@cornell.edu/maillist.html 2) http://www.surfbirds.com/birdingmail/Group/NYSBirds-L 3) http://birdingonthe.net/mailinglists/NYSB.html Please submit your observations to eBird: http://ebird.org/content/ebird/ --
