I received the e-mail below over the weekend. Michelle said she was not able
to post her observation to Genesee Birds as she is not a member, but would
be fine if you could do so. It would seem likely that this was the same
shrike. have you heard of any additional sightings?

Hello Paul,

 

I spotted a beautiful hovering Loggerhead Shrike near the entrance onto Lake
Ontario State Parkway near Ontario Beach Park on Thursday afternoon around 3
pm. It was hovering over something in the tall grass, much like a
hummingbird, then tipped down and flew up onto a short tree.

 

I wonder if this is the same one that was seen last month?
