[nysbirds-l] First of season: Canvasbacks, Bufflehead in Croton Bay

2017-10-23 Thread Anne Swaim
Two male Canvasbacks and two male Bufflehead were seen in Croton Bay this
morning along with small raft of Lesser Scaup and Ruddy Ducks during Saw
Mill River Audubon regular 4th Monday walk at Croton Point.

Waterfowl first glimpsed from atop landfill hill and then viewed closely
from Mariandale Retreat Center shoreline.

Also seen was a lone, immature Brant off Croton Point bathing beach within
a flock of Canada Geese and then two more adult Brant were seen in Croton
Bay with above waterfowl.
