[nysbirds-l] Mississippi Kite Staten Island

2016-05-09 Thread Isaac Grant
Amazingly for the second time in 3 years I just had an adult Mississippi Kite
fly over my house. It was traveling north west so keep an eye to the sky if you
are in Brooklyn.

[nysbirds-l] Mississippi Kite/Staten Island YES

2013-06-15 Thread Shane Blodgett
The long staying Mississippi Kite is showing well at the Cemetery of the
Resurrection, soaring fairly high above the road leading to the overlook and
feeding on the wing (cicadas of course).

Seen with the original finder Anthony C. and Mike Vedder of Long Island.

[nysbirds-l] Mississippi Kite, Staten Island

2012-05-25 Thread Joe T
An adult Mississippi Kite just made two brief appearances over the royal oak
section of Clove Lakes Park on Staten Island. Saw it once flying north and
another time flying south so it may be sticking around.

Also had a very late Hermit Thrush in the same general area.

Howie Fischer and I on the spot.
