[nysbirds-l] Seatuck Long Island Birding Challenge, Saturday September 25
The eighth annual Long Island Birding Challenge, hosted by the Seatuck Organization, will be held this coming Saturday. September 25th. Due to ongoing covid restraints, all birders are asked to participate alone or in small groups and comply with all local health guidelines. Teammates will not be required to be together to identify birds as a group. Again this year, teams and individuals will be limited to one of five areas on Long Island: Brooklyn, Queens, Nassau, Western Suffolk and Eastern Suffolk (see website below for specific Suffolk designations). Teams will combine individual lists at the end of the day to create their total team tally. Official checklists must be submitted by 10:00 pm Saturday, to st...@seatuck.org A Zoom meeting will be held shortly after, date and time to be announced. Last year we had eight teams in the field with a total of 29 participants, and all five designated areas were represented. The Zoom meeting was lively and well-attended, and we hope to have the same wonderful turnout and excitement this year. Registration is free but donations to the Seatuck Organization will be much appreciated; a link can be found on the registration page. For more information about the event, to find the downloadable/printable official checklist, and to register, please visit https://seatuck.org/birding-challenge/ Hope you can make it! Patricia Lindsay, Shai Mitra, and the entire Seatuck team. -- NYSbirds-L List Info: http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsWELCOME.htm http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsRULES.htm http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsSubscribeConfigurationLeave.htm ARCHIVES: 1) http://www.mail-archive.com/nysbirds-l@cornell.edu/maillist.html 2) http://www.surfbirds.com/birdingmail/Group/NYSBirds-L 3) http://birding.aba.org/maillist/NY01 Please submit your observations to eBird: http://ebird.org/content/ebird/ --
