[nysbirds-l] Snowy Egret - Wilson, Niagara County
The SNOWY EGRET was rediscovered Saturday by Gerry Teal and it continues in the vicinity of the NY Rt 18 bridge over Twelve Mile Creek. Today it was seen by many observers south of the bridge, often close to the bridge and occasionally roosting on a nearby dock. It was also found a few hundred yards south of the bridge and in the late afternoon, I had it on the north side of the bridge. It moves around but it is pretty easy to pick out. The Rt 18 bridge is just west of Wilson-Tuscarora State Park, and roughly 12 miles from the Niagara River. Rt 18 runs along the south shore of Lake Ontario. Good birding!
