Hi all,

This afternoon, after searching unsuccessfully for the Hermit Warbler at
Sunken Meadow, we went to West End. The Coast Guard Station had 3 Harlequin
Ducks, as well as many actively feeding Bonaparte's Gulls. On the very far
side of the bay, there were many thousands of Brant on the water.

After an unproductive walk along the edge of the median, we heard and saw a
single young male WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILL that landed and fed in the pines at
the turn-around for 5-10 minutes before flying west again.

Other than that, there was little of note. We briefly checked, but did not
see the Loggerhead Shrike at the Theodore Roosevelt Sanctuary.

Good birding,

Shawn Billerman
