Subject: Antam to conduct shares buyback
Dear Sir/Madam,
Antam would like to inform that the company plans to conduct shares
buyback plan. The buyback plan is conducted inline with the recent share
price performance which was affected by the recent turmoil in global
financial market. The Indonesia shares market fluctuates significantly
in which the Indonesian Stock Exchange Index decreased by 28.77% from
2,037.88 as of September 8, 2008 to 1,451.66 as of October 8, 2008.
The performance of the Indonesian Stock Exchange index also affects the
Company's stock price, albeit the Company's sound financial position
with strong cash position to maintain its growth. The Company's leverage
position is healthy with the possibility to further increase the
leverage level if necessary. The buyback is also intended for the
company's capital management.
Antam has allocated Rp200 billion for the buyback transaction with no
minimum number of shares that can be bought back. The buy-back period
will commence on 13 October 2008 and will finish no later than 3 months
from 13 October 2008. The buyback may be concluded earlier if the funds
allocated for the buyback (Rp200 billion) are
spent before this date or the buy-back is terminated by Antam.
