Some trouble in using Ocropus to read receipts!!!!
Hello Everyone I am quite a novice as far as OCR 's are concerned and have just started using them. As part of one of my class projects , i need to make us of OCRopus . I am using version 0.3. The results given by Ocropus are more than satisfactory in most of the cases however in certain cases the accuracy is greatly reduced . It would be great if someone could tell me the reason for this poor accuraccy and what pre-processing could i do in order to get better results. I am attaching the images in the Files Section under the name krg_reciepts,png1 and kfc.png Besides is there any way where i could disable the multi-column support. This is because my application basically deals with receipts where there are 2 columns with name of items on one side and their corresponding prices in the second column. Currently on using ocropus , it recognizes the receipt to be in multi-column format and instead of putting the prices in front of the item name , it displays them after all the items . for eg if my receipt is as follows Apple$7 Milk$5 The output i get is Apple Milk $7 $5 Is there any way to correct this either by disabling some feature or by using the co-ordinates in hocr format which i don't quite understand. Hope to hear from u soon thanks --~--~-~--~~~---~--~~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "ocropus" group. OpenOffice, Ocropus, and Summer of Code 2009
Hello, for your information, on the list of ideas for the OpenOffice.org Summer of Code projects there was one idea added, which is related to Ocropus: http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/ooo-build/SummerOfCode/2009#head-a7a953a21ea807c0e80f8bec21929c87a1ef21d6 Such an extension would add the possibility to OpenOffice.org to access Ocropus OCR capabilities and output the file directly to OpenWriter or OpenDraw. Furthermore, it would provide a simple GUI to Ocropus. Hopefully, some students send their application for this idea. Issue 137: rec-tess-complete.lua:52 (has it been solved?)
About: Issue 137: rec-tess-complete.lua:52: attempt to call global 'hardcoded_version_string' (a nil value) Applying patches failed. Is there a more recent version of this lua script?
