[Okular-devel] [Bug 228196] New: Okular should not refresh file if it becomes unreadable

2010-02-23 Thread Ivo Anjo
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=228196

Summary: Okular should not refresh file if it becomes
unreadable
   Product: okular
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: okular-devel@kde.org
ReportedBy: knuck...@gmail.com

Version:(using KDE 4.4.0)
OS:Linux
Installed from:openSUSE RPMs

Okular has an excellent feature: it automatically notices changes to opened
files and re-loads them.

Unfortunately this feature has a bug: if the new file is somehow unreadable, it
means the old file is lost.

For example if I open a pdf file, and then using the shell or dolphin I take
away its read permissions, okular automatically reloads to an empty window,
which I think is a bug -- it should not unload the old file until it is sure
that there is still something to be displayed.

Another example is using open-with within firefox: firefox saves a file to
/tmp, and then opens okular. If you then close firefox, it cleans the file in
/tmp, and the okular window becomes empty too.

[Okular-devel] [Bug 228260] New: support for PDX collections for multi pdf searches in okular

2010-02-23 Thread SlashDevDsp

Summary: support for PDX collections for multi pdf searches in

   Product: okular

  Platform: Compiled Sources
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR

I just came across a cool feature of acrobat reader9. where you can setup in
advanced search a collections.pdx (I think this is a collection of indexes of a
certain pdf files).

Once the collections.pdx is added you can search from the advanced search menu
'keyword' in the collection which shows results from pdf files in the
collections.

I think can be done with an extension to okular search with nepomuk/strigi
backend, so you can search for a certain keyword in pdfs and pdfs from a
certain root directory.
