It seems that Helvetica and Times are being substituted by "TeXGyreHeros" and "TeXGyreTermes", respectively. I have Liberation fonts installed and installed the MS proprietary ones, but the bug persists. Everything is rendered as it should with Liberation fonts for Helvetica and Times (not embedded into the file). What is shown on the "File->Properties->Fonts" tab for Helvetica and Times? Can you install Liberation fonts or MS proprietary Helvetica and Times fonts and try again?
