It's older than the 2.0 betas. :-) -- Jason Etheridge | VP, Tactical Development | Equinox Software, Inc. / Your Library's Guide to Open Source | phone: 1-877-OPEN-ILS (673-6457) | email: ja...@esilibrary.com | web: http://www.esilibrary.com
[OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Separation of Financial and Bibliographic Data
As an acquisitions clerk for a library running Evergreen within a consortium, I've been following the development of the acquisitions module for a couple of years. However, having little understanding of database structures, I'm unable to determine whether financial data and bibliographic data may be physically separated. Thus, could one of the Evergreen gurus tell me if financial data may be stored locally at the library level while bibliographic data is housed remotely at the consortial level. Cheers Sean P.S. Many thanks to the folks who host acq.open-ils.org and created the trunk staff client installer -- it's a great way to preview Evergreen without worrying about server details. SS

Thanks, but I have run autogen.sh and now, after your suggestion, also restarted memcached and I am still getting this error. Based on the input we received, the team has revised the goals and requirements, and draft 2 is now available for feedback at http://evergreen-ils.org/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=webteam.strategic_goals_requir ements. Do you have any additions or suggestions for improvement? Please let us know by sending your feedback to the list. Also, the team has created user stories to describe tasks that different types of users in the Evergreen community may wish to perform on the web site. User stories are a method of creating software requirements for software applications and in our case, online communities. First, we define our web site visitors by grouping them into personas based on shared objectives and characteristics. Once we've identified a user persona, we can develop "user stories" for the persona. These are sample activities representing every task that a user from that role may wish to perform - everything from finding certain inforomation to participating in online discussions. When developing our user personas and user stories, we want to make sure that we are satisfying all of the requirements that we defined on our strategic requirements page. After a comprehensive list of user stories has been developed, we'll work as a community to refine and prioritize that list as the next stage in our planning process. The web team's initial set of user stories is posted at http://evergreen-ils.org/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=webteam.visitor_analysis. Are you represented in this list of potential users? Are there sample activities we may have overlooked? The Web Team is eagerly seeking additions and suggestions from as many people in the EG community as possible; please submit your suggestions to the general mailing list. Joseph, You most likely need to run /openils/bin/autogen.sh on the server as well as restart memcached. Jason Stephenson Merrimack Valley Library Consortium

[OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Receipt printer specifications
I understand in theory that, "Evergreen can use any printer configured for your terminal to print receipts," but I recently tried an Epson TM-T88IV with a serial cable and though the printer tested fine in Windows, in Evergreen 1.4.0.7, it would advance a couple of lines, pause 4 seconds, and then print. Also it would not allow me to save printer settings changes in Evergreen. Is there something I should know about Evergreen and serial cables?
