Re: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Verification of Patron Data
One other comment, it appears that one of the options when creating a action trigger is to create a patron penalty. I don't know what the options are there, but that might do the same as a SQL command and be easier to manage Aaron Z Jr. Systems Administrator Pioneer Library System 2557 State Rt. 21 Canandaigua, New York 14424 Phone: (585) 394-8260 - Original Message - From: Justin Hopkins jus...@mobiusconsortium.org To: Evergreen Discussion Group open-ils-general@list.georgialibraries.org Sent: Friday, May 17, 2013 11:23:43 AM Subject: Re: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Verification of Patron Data If you have the ability to update the database I'd suggest writing a short sql script to be run on a daily basis that could add a patron alert/note when the criteria are met (every second year following the user create date). [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Self Check and IE Errors
We have noticed that the self check interface does not display the initial login screen when viewed in IE. It works fine with Firefox and Chrome. We tried IE 8, 9, and 10 with and without the pop-up blocker. We are using this URL: http://evergreen.noblenet.org/eg/circ/selfcheck/main I don't see a bug report on launchpad and wondered if anyone else has seen this. We have libraries that use a kiosk browser based on IE for their public workstations and would like to run the self check in this browser. -- Martha Driscoll Systems Manager North of Boston Library Exchange Danvers, Massachusetts www.noblenet.org

Re: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Self Check and IE Errors
Hi Martha, Although I don't readily find documentation of the fact, the web-based self check interface in Evergreen was implemented with only Firefox kiosks in mind. A launchpad bug report soliciting fixes to support IE there would be appropriate. Whatever limitation prevented IE support in the first place may or may not apply any longer. Re: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Self Check and IE Errors
Hi Martha, I can confirm that behavior. Thus far, I've only worked with Chrome and Firefox when using the Evergreen self-check in my own testing. I'm not sure why it doesn't work with IE and never really paid much attention actually since I preferred Firefox or OpenKiosk ( https://www.mozdevgroup.com/products/openkioskdistro.html) as the base browsers for actual recommended use in the field. -- Ben On 05/22/2013 02:26 PM, Martha Driscoll wrote: We have noticed that the self check interface does not display the initial login screen when viewed in IE. [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] No Matchpoint error on checkout 2.3.5
I'm in the process of getting a library up and running in our system. They are in the system with policies in place and patrons being added and have recently received some transit items from other libraries to checkout to their patrons. The only problem is that when they do check the item out, they receive the error no matchpoint and nothing else. It appears that their own items checkout just fine, but outside items are the only ones throwing this exception. Can anyone point me in the right direction for troubleshooting this? Thanks, Geoff Sams Roanoke Public Library 817-491-2691
Re: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] No Matchpoint error on checkout 2.3.5
Hi Geoff, Have you checked your Circulation Policy Configuration table to make sure there's a line in the table for items transiting from another branch? It sound to me like your matchpoints for circulation are too specific. You probably have matchpoints for library X items at library X and library Y items at library Y, but not library Y items at library X or vice versa. You'll need to find out whose rules should apply and add or modify the appropriate entries. You'll find these in the staff client from the Admin Menu = Local Administration = Circulation Policies. That's what is really strange here, all of our policies are open ended. Library X at library blank, for all users. Only for very specific details do we set that specific of a rule. There are a set of rules for each libraries that have been working at all locations until this most recent addition. The other strange thing on circ policy I noticed was when I set the permission group to Users (our highest level user group) the policy did not work (no match point). But after I changed it to a lower level (Public Library Users) it worked. So it might worth a try to put something in Org Unit. [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] ***SPAM*** Acquisitions: Is it possible to separate fiscal years from calendar years in Evergreen?
Is it possible to separate fiscal year from calendar years in Evergreen? This issue arises with our current library system every year. E.G. We have to order the new books that come out in January in December, and our current system doesn't allow these items to be billed from the next year's funds. The problem is that the fiscal year can't be changed separately from the calendar year. Best wishes Leevi Rantala Project worker / Librarian Oulu Regional Library - City Library Finland
