Elaine,

A new bug would be better in this case, as the underlying code that handles
audience changed with the 2.6-era record attribute functionality.

Thanks!

The audience filter for adult is excluding blank again. There is an existing
bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/evergreen/+bug/760890 from 2011 that is marked
incomplete; however it was fixed in earlier versions. We are unsure whether the
best course would be to add to the existing bug or open a new one. Since this
is a pretty serious search issue, we don’t want it to get lost either way.

To illustrate: our test server is still on 2.5 and an author search for weber,
david filtered by adult is successful. See
http://test.gapines.org/eg/opac/results?bool=andqtype=keywordcontains=containsquery=bool=andqtype=titlecontains=containsquery=bool=andqtype=authorcontains=containsquery=weber%2C+david_adv=1fi%3Aaudience=+%2Ce%2Cf%2Cglocg=1pubdate=isdate1=date2=sort
 =

The same search on our live server (running 2.7.2) retrieves only 7 titles, all
Audn code g:

http://gapines.org/eg/opac/results?bool=andqtype=keywordcontains=containsquery=bool=andqtype=titlecontains=containsquery=bool=andqtype=authorcontains=containsquery=weber%2C+davidfi%3Aaudience=+%2Ce%2Cf%2Cglocg=1pubdate=isdate1=date2=sort=_adv=1

We have altered the adult filter to include blank, e,f,g. Testing on another
test server running 2.7.2 using a filter with just blank has the same results
as live.

I also checked NC Cardinal’s catalog which is running 2.6, I believe. An
unfiltered author search for weber, David retrieved 211 titles. A filtered
search (linked below) retrieved 10, so the problem came back in 2.6:

https://mauney.nccardinal.org/eg/opac/results?bool=andqtype=keywordcontains=containsquery=bool=andqtype=titlecontains=containsquery=bool=andqtype=authorcontains=containsquery=weber%2C+david_adv=1fi%3Aaudience=elocg=1pubdate=isdate1=date2=sort
 =

Would bug wranglers rather us open a new ticket or add to the existing one?

I created a PINES 2.7.2 staff client, and can make a generic one for you.
What version, exactly, do you need?

I can commit to building Mac clients for major releases if we want to post
on the website, but I might need a poke each time a new one is out. I also
couldn’t guarantee support for them because they are so lightly used and
un-tested.

Colleagues,

Several years ago we went from a Windows shop to a mix of Mac and Windows.
In my opinion this was done mostly for the cool factor. Trouble is, all of
the software that we regularly use in the library is Windows based.

Last summer we moved most of our staff machines back to Windows ... but not
all. So, we now must languish with the 2.6 Evergreen release, until some
generous soul like SITKA creates a 2.7 staff client.

Are there any programing wizards out there that are inclined to create a 2.7
Mac staff client? It sure would be nice if all releases could include Mac
and Linux staff clients.

[OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] About 'Set Bottom interface to default' in MARC Edit - Flat-text Editor screen

2015-01-23 Thread Rita.Liu
Good evening,

Our staff is curious to see if there is a way to keep the resized Flat-text
Editor screen in Evergreen Staff Client.

Sometimes our record is really long, our staff can right click the very
right-bottom of the Flat-text Editor screen to enlarge (re-size) the screen to
maximum, however there is no way to keep it once closing the tab even we chose
'Set Bottom interface to default' in MARC Edit screen- Action for this record.

Also the background color of the flat-text editor changes to green when the
record exceeds the one page screen, is there a way to keep the background color
as white.

Thanks a lot and have a nice weekend.

Best,

We are just beginning our new Spring semester so now wouldn't be a great
time for us to upgrade. But it would be great to have Mac clients on the EG
website for major releases. Also, it would give us the option of long term
testing in our test installation.

Many thanks Michael!

[OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Adding copy barcode/ID to the invoice print output template

2015-01-23 Thread Cerninakova Eva
Hi all

Due to Czech accounting rules we need to hand over a list containing copy
barcodes/IDs related to every paid invoice item saved in Evergreen
Acquisition to our Accounting Department. We use report module for printing
overview of copy barcodes attached to each invoice, but this way is a bit
laborious. If the barcode could be added to the trigger event definition
template processed on demand when printing the invoice, it would save us
much time and effort. I have previously successfully customized the
Invoice template in Notification / Action Triggers interface according
to most of our needs but as I am not a template toolkit expert I failed to
add barcode(s) of item paid to the template output.
Is there an easy way to add copy barcode (or at least ID) to the Invoice
trigger event definition template (e.g. do you think using a part of the
lineitem worksheet trigger event definition template would solve the
problem)?

Thanks in advance for your ideas :-)

Eva

To follow-up on this, post meeting since I wanted to see how it went

meetings in the main #evergreen channel, rather than a separate
dedicated IRC channel just for OPW-evergreen. While it's not hard to
position the bots into another channel for logging purposes (which was
also requested at one point), I feel that the general structure of the
discussion warrants being placed in the main IRC channel. It was
pretty cool seeing how many people stopped by the separate channel to
see what was being discussed anyways, but I think that we can see the
same or even broader community involvement if we move it into the main
channel.

And if we're worried about cross-talk/other discussions interrupting,
I'd say we mark off the time on the Evergreen events calendar
indicating when IRC office hours are being held for OPW and use this
as an opportunity to get the whole community to watch/be-involved.
Even if some random discussions do end up occurring, the whole
community should use this time to engage with the OPW student and
process and we can work together to curtail other discussions and
focus on the OPW work. Kind of like we'd do for any interest group or
developer meeting. It seems like that would be beneficial for
everyone (not just those in the separate channel) to see what is being
done as part of OPW. Separating the conversation also does not really
afford the OPW candidate the chance to interact with the whole IRC
community using the same general methods we'd use with any other new
developer. It's good for them to get to know us in the main channel,
and for us to get to know them too.

So, to re-summarize, this is my motion to move the OPW discussions
into the main #evergreen channel.
