Re: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Bills Current Receipt Template and Total Owed
Excellent, thanks Scott! I searched launchpad as well and didn't find that one. Our libraries will be happy to know about these macros that work on the bills_current receipt. I'd still love to see one that could pull in the total owed on the items_out receipt (like %balance_owed% does on the checkout receipt) so that when someone asks for the status of their account we could give them the list of items they still have out plus their current bills all in one receipt, but I haven't found a way to do that yet. If anyone knows if there is a way, I'd be really happy to hear it. Re: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Bills Current Receipt Template and Total Owed
Good Morning, Interesting. I'm glad you found it, Scott. I just want to mention that the reason why your search may not have returned results the first time is because Launchpad does not search bugs in a Fix Released status by default. [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Exporting bib records to blacklight discovery layer
Hi all, We're looking to launch a blacklight-based discovery layer this fall, and looking for the best way to get a regular dump of bib records going. Would this be a case where we'd just want a script to run nightly that creates a list of appropriate Bib IDs, then calls the marc_export support script? Or is there a better way to handle this? I am particularly curious about how to handle deletions, given that we are just one library in a consortial setting. The 'd' in the LDR/05 wouldn't necessarily work, because other libraries in the consortium could still have holdings attached to that bib record after we delete our holdings. Incidentally, is anybody else on this list using Blacklight (or VuFind or something else solr-based) as a discovery layer with Evergreen? If so, I'd love to hear any pointers you can provide. Thanks for your help, -Jane -- Jane Sandberg Electronic Resources Librarian Linn-Benton Community College sand...@linnbenton.edu / 541-917-4655

Re: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] alert for once juvenile becomes adult
This doesn't solve the ID issue, but we run the http://git.evergreen-ils.org/?p=Evergreen.git;a=blob;f=Open-ILS/src/support-scripts/juv_to_adult.srfsh script nightly. As you'll see, it's a one-liner that flips the flag based on the age threshold of your choice. - Original Message - From: Terran McCanna tmcca...@georgialibraries.org To: Evergreen Discussion Group open-ils-general@list.georgialibraries.org Sent: Wednesday, June 10, 2015 11:07:32 PM Subject: Re: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] alert for once juvenile becomes adult Ah, I see - that's a great way to make sure their own ID is collected for the account - I've certainly run across accounts like this where the parent's ID is still on the young adult's card years later because it was overlooked during card renewals. When we scan their card the alert would prompt us to ask for THEIR ID and then we’d change the information, as long as the fines are below our threshold (we’re often very generous with kids becoming adults, especially if the fines were accrued when they were very young). Since we have to manually view and enter the new ID info (Evergreen isn’t THAT good), it doesn’t make much sense to have the script remove parent ID automatically. We have encountered patrons who had max fines as a juvenile, but their parents never paid the fines. We wouldn't want to automatically remove the parent's identifying info from the account in these cases since the parent is still responsible for those bad debts. Of course, we could probably just add an extra bit into the script to check for fines before updating all of that info - or maybe partially update, but add different info to the alert. Re: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Multi-Valued Fields in the wild
Kate, What is the use case you have in mind? I ask because anyone on 2.6 or greater is actually already using them. For instance, if you have a record for a DVD/Blu-Ray combo set that has two 007 fields, one for each video recording format, you can search by either (or both) and find the record.
