And since you have to copy the customized templates to each workstation regardless, there’s not much difference in typing/coping a line of macros vs. typing the library name manually. Hope that helps. And thanks for the list, Lynn! Another option (which we use) is to include one or more of the following in your receipt template: %INCLUDE(header_text)%, %INCLUDE(notice_text)%, %INCLUDE(footer_text)%, %INCLUDE(alert_text)% Then for each library, set the header_text, notice_text, footer_text and alert_text settings in the library settings editor as needed. We have those includes in our default template on the server, that way one template works for 98% of the libraries. TPAC does that automatically in our 2.2 install, but it would get confusing for patrons. For example, if Library B has SMS turned on, but Library A has it turned off, if a patron from Library B goes to Library A, does a search for items available at Library A, then tries to place a hold, it will not show the SMS options. Our limited testing (turning it on for one library when we meant to turn it on for the whole system) showed that the SMS settings tie to EITHER your home library (if logged in) or your current search library (if not logged in). In our testing, if your home library has SMS turned on, you place a hold from there (requesting SMS notification) and the checkout library has SMS turned off, you will get a SMS notification. The SMS yes/no is set on the hold record, as such, if the SMS Hold Notification Action Trigger is turned on but SMS is completely off in settings, staff can edit the hold (from the staff client) to add the phone number/carrier and it WILL generate a hold notification (or at least it did in our test environment). Not sure how hairy this would be to actually implement or how useful having the option to configure this setting per-library/branch would be, in terms of number of libraries who would use the option. I would just turn it on for everyone. If a library doesn't want to use it, they don't have to fill it in and if the patrons want it, they can enter that at the time of placing a hold. No other C/W Mars libraries use a magnetic strip card on their sites-- but that doesn't indicate anything since the overwhelming libraries participating in this consortium are small public libraries and we are an outlier as an academic campus. Assuming that you have the rest setup (to find the items), add the circ transaction start date/time (ItemCirculationsCheckout Date/Time) as a Max aggregate filter to the list of filters and it should only return the info the the last checkout. If you click on the Debugging Info link from the report page, there should be a Generated SQL section. In there where should be a FROM statement with a bunch of LEFT OUTER JOIN and other JOIN statments. They will each have a table name after the JOIN along with an AS. One of the text strings after the AS should match the one you posted above. For example, one of our reports has the following: FROMreporter.overdue_circs AS c8a790b472655be78d781328a75d9fb5 LEFT OUTER JOIN asset.copy AS 4dea4106377793e92f172d1c616f01d1 That should let you see which table and column it cannot find. If you have SQL access, you should be able to copy/paste the whole Generated SQL section and run that as a query to get the same data as the report will give you. We use RT here at PLS. I like it, it lets us setup permissions, add requestors to tickets, merge tickets, have automatic responses when something happens to a ticket, automatically BCC people when something happens to a ticket (ie: there are 4-5 people who get BCCed with any updates are made to a ticket in the Evergreen queue), mark tickets as dependent on other tickets, depended on by other tickets, mark tickets as parents or children of other tickets, etc. We have it setup with our mail system, so when you send an email, it will automatically open a ticket for the sender in the correct queue. Also (unlike some ticketing systems) when you reply via email from the ticket, the reply goes into the ticket. You can either reply to the requestor or you can add a comment (added to the ticket, but not sent to the requestor) via email. Downsides: The web UI on our version is clunky (but the libraries never use it, they just use email to interact with RT), and our antiquated version needs some tweaks to the config files from time to time. Re: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Batch Delete Records
I am not sure what a TSN is (perhaps you meant TCN?), but if you have a list of barcodes, you can paste them into a text file, import it into Check Item Status (rather than scanning the items in) and manage the items from there. Otherwise, I don't think there is any way to batch select items, volumes, records etc without going directly into the database. It is possible to have EG delete the Call Number/Volume record when all copies are deleted and the Bib record when all Call Number/Volume records are deleted , but it doesnt sound like that is what you want to do. Re: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Batch Delete Records
So, there is only one copy per bib record? If that is the case, you could dump the TCNs to a comma seperated list and run a query which returned the barcodes of the attached copies for the list of TCNs An example would be: SELECT biblio.record_entry.tcn_value, asset.copy.barcode FROM biblio.record_entry INNER JOIN asset.call_number ON (biblio.record_entry.id = asset.call_number.record) INNER JOIN asset.copy ON (asset.call_number.id = asset.copy.call_number) WHERE biblio.record_entry.tcn_value IN ('abj00018615', 'u220115') ORDER BY 1, 2 ASC This will not work in the EG reporter unless you are willing to past each and every TCN into a list Aaron Z Jr. Systems Administrator Pioneer Library System 2557 State Rt. 21 Canandaigua, New York 14424 Phone: (585) 394-8260 - Original Message - From: Brian Greene bgre...@cgcc.cc.or.us To: Evergreen Discussion Group open-ils-general@list.georgialibraries.org Sent: Wednesday, August 24, 2011 12:20:38 PM Subject: Re: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Batch Delete Records Thanks Aaron, Yes, I meant TCN. The file containing the titles isn't associated with barcodes, so that option is out. It is possible to print to a USB connected SP200, but you have: 1. Share it on the network 2. Add the the shared printer as a networked printer 3. Redirect LPT1 to the networked printer from step 2 If you have the ability to just use parallel, I would just do that. It would be MUCH simpler that way. Deleted Records Export: We have a report that runs every week which grabs all of the bib records deleted in the last week and returns the following information about them: Last edit date, Last editor, Create date, ISBN, OCLC number, Record ID, Title and Author. This allows us to update our holdings in OCLC and it works well. We will need to export our added and deleted records on a regular basis. One of the questions that has come up is how Evergreen treats deleted records. The questions are: When you run an export of updated records, are deleted records included in the file? Do they have a flag in the MARC record to signal that the record has been deleted? III Millennium is an example of an ILS that has this capability. or Does the ILS output deleted records to a file on the server? Ex Libris Voyager is an example of an ILS that has this capability. or Does the ILS provide a report of MARC records by ID number? SirsiDynix Symphony is an example of an ILS that has this capability. I really have no idea how to go about answering these questions. Could anyone help me with this? Btw, any Evergreen libraries implementing Summon? Thanks! I am a little late to this discussion, do you have a model printer that you are planning on using? We are not yet live on Evergreen yet, but in my printer testing, I have tested the Star TSP100 (USB, Thermal) with the staff client versions 1.6.3, .4, .6 and .7. It seems to handle both Mozilla mode and DOS mode without any noticeable issues. I think that the Star SP512 (LPT, Dot Matrix) could also work (with a LPT to USB adapter or if there is a USB variant of it). In our testing, it has handled Mozilla print mode properly as well as DOS print mode.
