[OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Third Party Credit Card Vendors
I am interested in knowing if anyone is using a third party credit card vendor such as Paypal, Stripe, or Authorize.net. And if so, what has your experience been. Thanks Dawn Dale GPLS Helpdesk Manager Georgia Public Library Service 1800 Century Place Suite 150 Atlanta, GA 30345 404-235-7136 dd...@georgialibraries.org
Re: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Problem registering new patron
Hi Eva, Your staff member needs a working location set. At the top of the permissions screen you should have a list of working locations. Choose at least one of those for your staff member, preferably the location where the staff member is working. That should fix the problem. They may need to log out and back in for it to take affect. Staff (except admin account) is not able to register new patron or edit patron account information - only some fields are displayed, see http://knihovna.jabok.cz/Evergreen/snapshots/edit_patron.jpg or or http://knihovna.jabok.cz/Evergreen/snapshots/register_patron.jpg . Staff permission groups have following configurations: Editing permission: group_application.user.patron or group_application.user.staff Parent group: Staff Group permissions: CREATE_USER CREATE_USER_GROUP_LINK DELETE_USER UPDATE_USER VIEW_USER group_application.user group_application.user.patron group_application.user.staff We don´t know what does the USER_BTYPE mean, but we also tried adding: CREATE_USER_BTYPE DELETE_USER_BTYPE UPDATE_USER_BTYPE VIEW_USER_BTYPE Permission mentioned above are granted to staff accounts both on the permission group level and for individual user (via user permission editor). Staff accounts have assigned appropriate working location too. Registering new patron is impossible even for the local system administrator account, that have all above mentioned permissions granted for the consortium depth (and can also grant them) and has the 'EVERYTHING' permission granted on the branch level. Is there anything else that should be set up to enable staff to edit or register new user? Thanks for any ideas Eva -- Mgr. Thanks, Erica! I wasn't aware of that. Are you referring to the notes/alerts/blocks listed under Messages within the patron account? You can control how far out into your system staff members see these notes and alerts under Standing Penalties. Admin - Local Administration - Standing Penalties. You will want to specify the org_depth for the penalty in question. What I am noticing, though, is that the adjustment to the org_depth does not retroactively make the notes visible further out in the system. It will only apply to the notes or alerts I add after I adjust my org_depth. Perhaps others out there know a trick or two to get the older messages to display further out into your system? Does this help? Notes by staff are preceded by the abbreviation for the branch where the workstation was registered. Is there a library setting somewhere to make these visible across all our branches? Re: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] workstation login tracking
Deana, Look in the Admin menu under Local Admin. At the very bottom of the list there is a work log. You should be able to use that to tell who was logged in when. You may have to turn on the activity meter in the Admin menu for it to work, I am not sure. I am wondering if there is a way to tell who was logged in to a given workstation at a given time? We are having difficulty getting items to the correct location. I can easily tell when and at which workstation the items were checked in, and I can put that together with my knowledge of who usually works on which station at that time, but I was wondering if there is a way to see this information through the staff client? [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Hold is behind circ desk option
In Evergreen 2/3/4 there is an option to click for Hold is behind circ desk in the Edit Patron screen. The place I am referring to is the check box that would say that the patron wants you to hold the book behind the desk. We have one library in our system that is experimenting with self-service holds. We went into the Branch Manager’s account and put a check in that box to state that the patron wants his hold held behind the desk. Then he went and placed a hold, then pulled the hold and captured it. There was no indication on the slip that alerted the staff to put the hold behind the desk for the patron. Does anyone know what checking that box on the Edit Patron screen does, exactly? Re: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Need advice on circulation limits
Vicki, You can set up a profile for these types of users and limit the checkouts to 3. In PINES we have a restricted profile that only allows 2 checkouts and no overdues or fines. For example, we usually limit new patrons and patrons who are paying off a fine in installments to checking out 3 items at a time. Can someone suggest a way to do this in Evergreen? Thank you.
