[OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Third Party Credit Card Vendors

2015-08-20 Thread Dale, Dawn
I am interested in knowing if anyone is using a third party credit card vendor
such as Paypal, Stripe, or Authorize.net. And if so, what has your experience
been.

Thanks

Re: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Problem registering new patron

2014-05-12 Thread Dale, Dawn
Hi Eva,

Your staff member needs a working location set. At the top of the permissions
screen you should have a list of working locations. Choose at least one of
those for your staff member, preferably the location where the staff member is
working. That should fix the problem. They may need to log out and back in for
it to take affect.

Subject: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Problem registering new patron

In a new Evergreen system we have a problem registering
patrons. Staff (except admin account) is not able to register new patron or
edit patron account information - only some fields are displayed, see
http://knihovna.jabok.cz/Evergreen/snapshots/edit_patron.jpg or or
http://knihovna.jabok.cz/Evergreen/snapshots/register_patron.jpg .

Staff permission groups have following configurations:
Editing permission: group_application.user.patron or
group_application.user.staff
Parent group: Staff

Group permissions:
CREATE_USER
CREATE_USER_GROUP_LINK
DELETE_USER
UPDATE_USER
VIEW_USER
group_application.user
group_application.user.patron
group_application.user.staff

We don´t know what does the USER_BTYPE mean, but we also tried adding:
CREATE_USER_BTYPE
DELETE_USER_BTYPE
UPDATE_USER_BTYPE
VIEW_USER_BTYPE

Permission mentioned above are granted to staff accounts both on the permission
group level and for individual user (via user permission editor).

Staff accounts have assigned appropriate working location too.

Registering new patron is impossible even for the local system administrator
account, that have all above mentioned permissions granted for the consortium
depth (and can also grant them) and has the 'EVERYTHING' permission granted on
the branch level.

Is there anything else that should be set up to enable staff to edit or
register new user?

Thanks for any ideas

Eva

Hi Deana!

Are you referring to the notes/alerts/blocks listed under Messages within the
patron account? You can control how far out into your system staff members see
these notes and alerts under Standing Penalties. Admin - Local Administration
- Standing Penalties. You will want to specify the org_depth for the penalty
in question. What I am noticing, though, is that the adjustment to the
org_depth does not retroactively make the notes visible further out in the
system. It will only apply to the notes or alerts I add after I adjust my
org_depth. Perhaps others out there know a trick or two to get the older
messages to display further out into your system?

Does this help?

System generated messages show up in both locations (and are preceded by the
abbreviation for our library system). Notes by staff are preceded by the
abbreviation for the branch where the workstation was registered. Is there a
library setting somewhere to make these visible across all our branches?

Thanks - again!

Re: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] workstation login tracking

2013-10-21 Thread Dale, Dawn
Deana,

Look in the Admin menu under Local Admin. At the very bottom of the list there
is a work log. You should be able to use that to tell who was logged in
when. You may have to turn on the activity meter in the Admin menu for it to
work, I am not sure.

Hi all!

I am wondering if there is a way to tell who was logged in to a given
workstation at a given time? We are having difficulty getting items to the
correct location. I can easily tell when and at which workstation the items
were checked in, and I can put that together with my knowledge of who usually
works on which station at that time, but I was wondering if there is a way to
see this information through the staff client?

Thanks!

[OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Hold is behind circ desk option

2013-04-05 Thread Dale, Dawn
In Evergreen 2/3/4 there is an option to click for Hold is behind circ desk
in the Edit Patron screen. The place I am referring to is the check box that
would say that the patron wants you to hold the book behind the desk.

We have one library in our system that is experimenting with self-service
holds. We went into the Branch Manager’s account and put a check in that box to
state that the patron wants his hold held behind the desk. Then he went and
placed a hold, then pulled the hold and captured it. There was no indication on
the slip that alerted the staff to put the hold behind the desk for the patron.

Does anyone know what checking that box on the Edit Patron screen does,
exactly?

Thanks,

for Program Submissions - Deadline 1/14 5:00 p.m. EST

Happy New Year to all!

The 2011 Evergreen International Conference planning team continues to accept
presentation proposals for the conference. We have received fewer than 10
submissions so far but we are hopeful for more. If you have been waiting in
the wings for your moment to shine, here it is!

There are three programming tracks, and we hope to have a broad spectrum of
programming within each track:

   1) Front line - Best practices and techniques
for using Evergreen in day-to-day library operations

   2) Administration - programs targeted at managers and administrators seeking
information
about the feasibility, cost issues, and other topics related to using
Evergreen and open
source software in consortial and standalone environments

   3) Technology - Issues of interest related to system administration,
software development,
implementation, hardware, and integration with other software

Presentation sessions will be 55 minutes in length - multi-part presentations
will be considered if your presentation requires more time. All presenters can
expect a laptop with Web access and PowerPoint, a computer projector and a
microphone.

*Proposal guidelines:*

   1) All submissions must include a session title, short description
appropriate for the conference program (no more than 200 words), and the
names, institutions, job titles and email addresses of those who will be
presenting the material at the conference.
   2) Note your intended track (Tech, Administration and Front Line Users) and
presumed technical level of your audience.
   3) Let us know of any accessibility requirements.

Please submit your proposals at the following site:
http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/7R7MSMF before 5:00 p.m. EST on January 14, 2011.

The third annual Evergreen International Conference will be held at the Decatur
Holiday Inn and Conference Center in Decatur, Georgia on April 27 - 30, 2011.
Details about the conference may be found at the conference website:
http://pines.georgialibraries.org/evergreen2011

Re: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Need advice on circulation limits

2010-12-23 Thread Dale, Dawn
Vicki,

You can set up a profile for these types of users and limit the checkouts to 3.
In PINES we have a restricted profile that only allows 2 checkouts and no
overdues or fines.

Subject: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Need advice on circulation limits

Is there a way to place a 'special circumstances' limit the number of
items a patron can check out. For example, we usually limit new patrons
and patrons who are paying off a fine in installments to checking out 3
items at a time. Can someone suggest a way to do this in Evergreen?
Thank you.
