Re: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] [External] Re: Towards more consistent terminology in the web client

2018-11-09 Thread Dawn Fritz
Hi,

I have been trying to create a report in the Web client which shows the
Total amount showing owed in a patron record. There are many possibilities
in the patron record which all show the same amount owed. There is Total
Owed, Fines Owed, Bills and Total Billed. It would be nice if just 1 of
these would be used and that term usable in a report.

Thanks,

Re: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Billing notices?

2018-03-13 Thread Dawn Fritz
Hi Jennifer,

When we joined Evergreen we were told that there is no automated Balance
Notice. Since we do send patrons to Collection, we wanted a way to notify
them about that potentially happening when they have fines but no lost
items. It's not as bad as it sounds, at least now that we have it all set
up! I think we look up about 5 patrons a day.

I absolutely agree that the best thing would be an automated notice, if you
do find a way to have that, I would be very interested in learning about it!

Thanks,

Dawn

Re: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Billing notices?

2018-03-13 Thread Dawn Fritz
Hi,

We are relatively new to Evergreen, this past October was our start time.
With our former system a Balance Notice was automatically generated to send
to patrons who had fines which would cause them to lose privileges. With
the help of Elizabeth Davis, we created a Report which gives us a list of
patrons who have had the Alert added to their record saying that they've
reached the Fine Threshold. By adding a filter to say when the Alert was
added, and having the report run daily, we can then send a Balance Notice
to patrons each day. We have a Google Doc set up for our Notice and we just
change the name, address, etc. for each new patron. The amount the patron
owes is another filter, and sometimes it's not correct in the report.
That's not a problem for us since we're already going through the list to
choose which patrons get a Notice.

If you'd like more details, I'll be glad to try to share what we use.

Re: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] patrons with bills

2017-12-30 Thread Dawn Fritz
Hi,

Our library started using Evergreen this past October and I'm having
problems with a similar report. I need a report which shows which patrons
have reached the $25 mark the previous day. I can get a list of patrons who
had a bill added the previous day, but I can't seem to limit the list to
patrons who reached $25.00 at that time. The lists I do get have wrong owed
amounts shown (most owe well under $25.00), and there can be 9 or more
pages of patron lists to check. It seems like there should be a way to find
patrons with a specific Total Owed amount in a specific time frame.

Thank you for adding this question to the list serv!

Sincerely,

Dawn Fritz - Circulation Manager Bethlehem Area Public Library

[OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Items not on Reserve being held for a patron

2017-05-18 Thread Dawn Fritz
Hi,

We will be moving from Sierra to Evergreen this October. Presently, when a
patron asks us to put an item which is on the shelf aside for them, we
change the item status to "Main Lib hold", "Branch 1 hold" or "Branch 2
hold". These statuses reflect our 3 branches and help in searches for the
items. There is no fee charged to the patron for this service. When we
check the item out to the patron, the system prompts us to clear the hold
status.

I see in Evergreen that there are 2 statuses which contain the word
"Reserve". Does anyone use these for held items which don't have the "On
Holds shelf" designation? Also, does anyone have a way to show which branch
has the item?

Thanks,
