The cataloger can then easily scan the surrounding titles to make sure the call number is correct, isn’t duplicated, and follows shelflisting local practice. From this standpoint, the shelf list in Evergreen isn’t real – it doesn’t provide a cataloger with enough information to properly assign a call number. Since many public libraries don’t have the complex shelflisting rules that academics have, and we don’t care if we use the same call number over and over and over again, the lack of real shelflisting functionality in Evergreen wasn’t an issue until more academic libraries came on board. Having good shelflisting capability will allow Evergreen to continue to appeal to a broad spectrum of libraries. Elaine J. Our library uses the 090 in the bibliographic record to display Bib Call Number search. Chris is correct in that the index is linked to a field within the bibliographic record, not at the volume level. I believe you need to configure your system with which field you wish to display. 050 may be the default. My suggestion would be for more detailed documentation on the Alternate Serial Control View, creating a subscription specifically. I'd like to see step by step instructions with screen captures on what to expect. This is not an area where we have no documentation, however, what is available is sparse. The theme of this year's conference is Together We Grow. The conference will be held in Cambridge, Massachusetts from March 19-22, 2014. There are three programming tracks, and we hope to have a broad spectrum of programming within these tracks. * End user: best practices and techniques for using Evergreen in day-to-day library operations. * General: programs on administration, training, making the decision to move to Evergreen, participating in the Evergreen community, and other topics related to using Evergreen and open source software in consortial and standalone environments. * Technical: Topics related to system administration, software development, implementation, hardware, and integration with other software. We are also seeking proposals for longer, two-to-three-hour tutorials to provide in-depth instruction in an area of interest. We would like this year's conference to include one tutorial on a technical topic and another one targeted for end users. This year, the Program Committee is trying something new for the selection process. All submitted proposals will be posted for the community to review. After the submission deadline, we will then give prospective attendees the opportunity to let us know which sessions they would be likely to attend. This community feedback will be one factor in the Program Committee's selection process. The committee will also weigh other criteria in the selection process, including accommodating the needs of the various audiences attending the conference. The deadline for submissions is October 31, 2013. We are also experiencing this. We have about 15 titles that we cannot check in.
We have a ticket open and Anoop is working on it. If anyone else has this
problem, please post to the bug list as this will help speed up the development
process.

For some time, some of our libraries have reported sporadic errors when
receiving serial issuances. In the past, I often was able to eliminate
the errors by editing faulty holding codes. But, in the most recent cases, I
don't see any problem with the holding codes.
For example, I have a report from a library of two titles that they cannot
receive. Both are annual publications. I created a test subscription for one
of the titles using the same caption and pattern code that the library used. I
then generated 6 expected issuances.
When I tried to receive an issuance, I got the same database error as reported
by the library.
We use the Serial Control View for receiving. As of today, we are on v.2.3.7.

Hello list, We will be migrating to Evergreen this year. We need to have some of our training in French. I have checked with Equinox, Bywater and Lyrassis and they do not have French speaking trainers. Can anyone offer any other suggestions?
