Re: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] floating question

2019-06-05 Thread Meme Marlow
Hi, Diane.

Our floating collection stayed at that library until another request came
in for that item. It will only leave the library it is at, if there is a
request for it.

We have some DVDs that are in a floating collection, so it isn't too bad.
These are easy to store away until someone needs them.

Have a great day.

Re: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Reorganized documentation: proof of concept

2017-08-24 Thread Meme Marlow
I like the way things are broken down by user groups. It makes it much
easier to locate the needed documentation. Just through my quick review I
found a feature I was not aware of and will try using. So I think it is
great.

Ok, I am good with helping with the sysadmin group. So I have looked at the
wiki. Is there certain things that need to be done? Are you still
generating conversations about the goals? Any feedback on this would be
great.

My spare time is limited and I currently am able to work some additional
things in, so now would be a good time to start working on this.

Thanks, Meme

[OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Evergreen at ALA

2015-06-23 Thread Meme Marlow
Evergreen Community Hosting Booth 3345 at ALA San Francisco

The Evergreen Community will be hosting booth 3345 at ALA San Francisco on
June 25th through 30th. Evergreen is open source library software that is
used in more than 1,300 libraries around the world.

ALA conferences provide attendees with information on global issues
effecting libraries. At ALA San Francisco there will about 900 exhibitors,
including Evergreen.

Evergreen has all of the modules of traditional ILS, but without the
restrictions of vendor driven ILS. Included with the software are modules
for self-check out, self-registrations, acquisitions, reports and serials.
It is continuously improving through semiannual updates and is customizable
to meet the needs of various sized libraries.

Make sure to check out the Evergreen booth 3345 and meet real Evergreen
users and hear their stories.

Do you still need volunteers for this committee? I am trying to get more

Anyway, let me know if you still need help on this and I will be happy to

[OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Serials

2014-07-01 Thread Meme Marlow
Hello, Evergreeners...

I am working on the serials module and have a few questions. I am curious
about formatting for display purposes. For example, I would like the records to
appear chronologically. But I am not sure if it matters how the date is
entered? For example 8/7/14 or August 7, 2014 or some are Aug 7 2014. Is this
specified during the setup of serials? Because there was also something about
the prefix and suffix during the setup. Does this apply to this also, so it
will ignore the written out date?

If anyone has any thoughts or insight on this, please let me know.

Thanks, Meme
