[OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Printing round CD labels

2018-03-15 Thread Sharon Douglas
Does anyone use Evergreen to print CD labels, the little round hubs you stick
to the inside of DVDs and CDs?

If so, what product do you use, and how do you get Evergreen to print to them.

I've also asked this question in the Catalogers Discussion group, so there is a
little cross posting.

Re: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Unique Management Collection Services

2016-12-09 Thread Sharon Douglas
We've used Unique Management services for a year with Evergreen and many years
before with another automation system.
We recently decided to stop using Unique's services for a number of months,
giving us time to gather statistics.

A month before turning names over to Unique, we've called customers ourselves.
For this effort we were seeing a 50% return rate, and a lot of appreciation
from customers for the personal call.

Moving forward, we'll be gathering stats on what does not get returned after
our efforts and without Unique's efforts.
We'll also be considering what the cost of being in business is, what our
normal loss rate is. (I'd love to hear others thoughts on this!)
After we have these numbers we'll be able to compare them to our stats gathered
while using Unique's services, and have the necessary data to make a better
informed decision.

We use Unique Services, and they connect directly to Evergreen to activate
accounts that meet our specific criteria. When we began contracting with them
and set up our account, they said that many of their clients use Evergreen.
We've been very happy with the quality of their service - no problems at all.

Thank you, Debbie and J. Sara for your answers.

I think the real question is "Is Unique Management connecting directly from
your Evergreen system?" This could be to find patrons to bill as well as put
them in collections in the Evergreen sense.

I know a number of libraries that use Unique Management but send reports to
Unique.

Thanks,
Jason

[OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Material Recovery Reports

2016-03-07 Thread Sharon Douglas
Good Morning Everyone,

We use Unique Management for our material recovery efforts and I'd like to
create some reports showing the success of these efforts.
Are any of you, who use the same material recovery vendor, willing to share
your reports?
If so, please reply with screen shots of your report setup.

Re: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Statiscial Categories report question

2016-01-29 Thread Sharon Douglas
I spoke to soon,
I'm able to "sort of" get statistical category count data, but not circ data.
So I'm still struggling with this and would greatly appreciate ideas from
others.

You know how, when you've given up and decide to ask the collective for ideas?
That's what I did.

And while I waited for one of you to quickly jump in with the best tip ever...
I decided to try one more thing, and wouldn't you know, I figured it out.

So thanks for reading my email
Next time I'm stuck, I'll take a coffee break and give my brain a little time
to think of some idea I'd not yet tried.
And only after that will I send out an email.

Hello everyone,
We are new to Evergreen (by a few months) and I'm finally ready to gather
statistical data, but I can't find it when putting together a report template.
We have 9 specialized stat cats and I'd like to gather circulation data for
each, but can't figure out where in the report feature to get at that data.
I'm adding a screen shot with some of the stat cat data I need showing near the
green areas.
Please offer tips on finding this data.

Hi Beth,
I’ve not been able to show the TOTAL AMOUNT SPENT PER INVOICE and would like to
see your query for doing that.
Can you share it?

Hi Janet,

We have a report that shows the total amount spent per invoice, along with the
total number of items purchased. But, this report does not include additional
charges. We have to run a separate report for those. I was not able to create
one report that would include both. If someone else has, I would love to see
the query.

If you would like more information about our report templates, just let me know.

Thanks.

We have been trying to come up with a report of invoices which shows the total

rather than the total spent for each invoice. And they don’t include the added
charges.

Part of our issue may be that we can only use the reporting tool in Evergreen
which might not be capable of doing what I would like since I can’t seem to
create a report that gives the results we want.

We would definitely appreciate help if anyone has created a report such as this
that works.

Thank you!

[OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] FW: Evergreen Acquistions vs some other method

2015-11-05 Thread Sharon Douglas

We've been struggling to get Evergreen Acquistions set up and working, and are
gaining ground.
But it's time for us to evaluate the pro/con of even using an acquisition
module, vs. using some other method.

I've got 3 questions for everyone...

1) Do you use Evergreen Acqisitions and if yes, do you use it all or only
some portion of it.

2) If you do not use Evergreen Acquistions, do you use some other
Acquistion software and if yes, what is it.

3) If you do not use any Acquisition software, what method do you use to
keep track of funds/ encumbrances/ect.?

I'm posting this same question to the Cataloging group.

[OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Another LARL member introduction

2015-08-21 Thread Sharon Douglas

Greetings Evergreen Community,

I think I'm the last Lake Agassiz Regional Library group member to introduce
herself. Have been busy answering migration questions and filling out mapping
spreadsheets. What an exciting time.

I'm Sharon Douglas, manage most of the settings, data cleanup, and reporting
for the automation system. Have a cataloging background, which seriously helps
when working out why a title isn't showing up in the web catalog.

When not working, I can't help but try making basic food ingredients from
scratch. Just finished trying out the idea of dehydrating sour cream, turning
it into a powder, and storing it. What did I learn? While this taste great
rehydrated, you really do need to get it into a fine powder form. Grainy sour
cream, not so great.
