TECHINCAL WRITER WITH PEOPLESOFT
LOCATION: CHAPEL, NC
DURATION:6-12 MONTHS

**** Technical Writing Consultant***
The Technical Writing Consultant will be a key member of the
ConnectCarolina change management team and will write a variety of end-user
materials for the PeopleSoft HCM and FMS 9.1 applications. Responsibilities
will

include:
· Developing an in-depth understanding of UNC users and their business
processes.
· Gathering information from a variety of sources, including reading
existing documentation such as test scripts or policy documents; exploring
the software; and interviewing subject matter experts, business analysts,
and

consultants.
· Creating high quality, user-friendly materials such as online help,
training materials, quick reference cards, PowerPoint slide decks, and
FAQs.
Important: This position will not be using training recording software such
as UPK, OnDemand, InfoPak, or uPerform.

This position requires:
· at least 5 years’ experience writing custom end user documentation for
software implementations
· a high level of motivation, with an ability to grasp complex concepts
quickly
· a good understanding of what makes end user documentation effective
· experience writing using a structured writing style
· a Bachelor's degree in English, Technical Writing, Communication, or
related field
Experience with MadCap Flare, Adobe Captivate, Oracle PeopleSoft
(especially Benefits and Payroll), and higher education are pluses. Being
able to analyze information from a variety of sources and determine what
end users

need to know is key to success in this position, as is knowing how to write
clearly and simply for end users who are new to PeopleSoft.
The contractor is expected to work a 40 hour week Monday through Friday (8
hours per day) or Monday through Thursday (10 hours per day). Local
candidates should expect to work Monday through Friday. Schedules may

need to change during the go-live training periods (expected to be November
2013 through January 2014).
