*Job Description:*
We are looking for a senior technical writer to write system
administration/operations documentation and API documentation for a large,
complex, enterprise client-server software system. The audience consists of
IT professionals (such as network administrators, system administrators,
and operators) and software developers.
The candidate should have solid experience writing for a technical audience
in the following areas:
- Describing how to install, configure, operate, and troubleshoot
large enterprise software systems.
- Describing how to use object-oriented APIs to write software for
complex systems
- Our position will include writing programmer guide (how-to) material
in addition to API reference material.
The candidate should have a basic understanding of the areas below. A basic
understanding means understanding the most basic concepts and being
familiar enough with the technologies to be able to understand what they
are writing and discuss it intelligently with engineers.
-Server networks and client-server software
-Object-oriented and web programming concepts
The candidate should be familiar with at least one of the major
object-oriented languages, such as C# or Java and should have some
experience actually writing code (e.g., creating code samples or at least
writing short programs for personal learning purposes).
