Re: [OpenIndiana-discuss] Miass OpenSolaris WebStack

2017-08-27 Thread Илья Архипкин
I dropped the connection on the router, the server was slightly unavailable. In
general, I need somewhere to get the source code from OpenSolaris. And what
if you take the code from OpenIndiana and just call it OpenSolaris? I'm
waiting for an offer from system programmers who will write code on a
non-qualitative basis. Can even put some on commercial tracks. We first
need to dial users, and then provide system administration and web server
consulting services. We can do this, is there something illegal here?

Regards, Arhipkin Ilya

Someone suggested to use the relink trick described below
https://alanhargreaves.wordpress.com/2011/04/17/making-audio-default-to-a-second-sound-device-in-solaris-11/
but it is not working in my case. And this the easiest trick to do. SO I asked
just in case someonehas done it and it is working. In theory everything works
just fine.

Not having similar hardware, I can't try for myself. But have you tried
googling for the words
audio hdmi solaris nvidia

and checking the first few pages of hits for anything useful? If it's too
many, add the model of your card to the search keywords, too.

It does look like at least some are expected to work. :-)

Re: [OpenIndiana-discuss] OpenIndiana Hipster on Xserve 2008

One more question. Has anyone ever set up a macOS kvm under Hipster? Would be
great to have that set up and run Xcode in it.

As I know, OSX/MacOS were able to run virtually on some very old
VirtualBox and only then it required running on Apple hardware, per
licensing requirements and the need to "check" if Apple hardware
recognition chips are available.

Later, support for it was removed from VirtualBox mainline.

Apple hardware is nothing but ordinary PC's and there many tutorials to
run it on PCs, but that violates software license that is (still)
exclusive on Apple hardware.
Seems like Apple is chasing away legally anyone having MacOS virtual
machine support..

With Apple hardware and OS I would feel trapped and imprisoned and I
don't want that - hence Openindiana. :)

It is much appreciated.

OpenSolaris. In 2024 there will be WebStack with the server management
panel.

Feel free to inform us how you project (if it is worth idea) is going,if
it is open sourced and where the code is published.

Hope it would support running on illumos distributions.

If it is open and more people work on it, I suppose it can be finished
before 2024 ;)
