Re: [OpenIndiana-discuss] reboot after loading platform

2017-09-04 Thread Dirk Willems

Hello Ken,

Yes it's now running on ubuntu 16.04 without any problems i also thought
it wouldn't be a problem because of the GeForce GTX 780 Ti witch I found
in the HCL ?

Any suggestion to try out or just not compatible with the Graphics or

Re: [OpenIndiana-discuss] reboot after loading platform

2017-09-03 Thread Dirk Willems

Hello Till,

Thank you,

Don't really know what you mean by F6 (doesn't do anything), but do have
option 5 where I can set verbose and debug on I suppose you mean this ?

With the verbose and debug on and booting in to multi user get

loading platform

in "blue line" booting (very quick) then the white line and reboot

with booting in to single user

loading platform

loading platform the white line and reboot

When it has to go in to the gui or asking which keyboard and display
language it reboot.

In the past with OI-hipster-gui-20161030.usb or text I was unable to get
the bootloader we spoke on this on Fosdem 2017 don't know if you
remember it ?

Now with the OI-hipster-gui-20170502.usb I am able to get the bootloader
so some step closer sadly enough didn't start further.

Tried also to install OmniOSCE and gnome3 from the joyent pkgsrc but
miss xorg packages and stuff ...

Didn't work for me :(

Checked freebsd and Xstreamos but didn't like it :(

I know I'm a difficult person but my perfect dream OS for desktop/laptop
would be a OmniOSCE with gnome3 or LTS Open Indiana with gnome3 (can
live with gnome2 on my desktop but really need gnome3 for my laptop)

My servers at my labo at work and home are all running OmniOSCE without
offcourse a gui witch is a perfect and happy world only now just getting
rip off my desktop and laptop running linux ubuntu so that I can run
everthing on illumos and having a peacefull systemadmin life that's my
only wish :)

Kind Regards,

Dirk

The One line suggests something boots but it does not report what.

In the Bootloader you can turn it on under the Advanced Options.
