Re: [osol-discuss] any work on bug ID 6807184
hi its, i have the same server-hardware as you and would like to know, if you're expirencing the same: i installed eon zfs storage 0.59.5 and the rge-6888015-14 from this thread. but i'm experiencing some odd network behaver and i can't find the course for it: writing speed on an zfs raidz pool via ethernet is fluctuating very strong http://dl.dropbox.com/u/655033/eon-cifs-write1.jpg looks like some kind of buffer or so ?? read has no fluctioation at all. local-writes are also just fine (checked via zpool iostat - don't know if this is the right way) i monitored this on cifs and iscsi (comcast) shares and with two different client machines running mac osx 10.6.2 and the other with windows xp / win7 thanks in advance, martin -- This message posted from opensolaris.org ___ opensolaris-discuss mailing list opensolaris-discuss@opensolaris.org
Re: [osol-discuss] How to cheat Sun server that cover is closed?
On Thu, Dec 24, 2009 at 8:50 PM, Tom Chen chento...@hotmail.com wrote: It is unable to fabricate another cover by ourselves. The servers seems to use magnetic field (not cheap electric switch in the older models) to detect cover closed or not. If not, then the server can not boot up. We need to test when server is running, thus we have to cheat it somehow to believe that cover is closed. You can always order a new one and make holes on the cover you've right now. As other people have said, having the cover open will not replicate the production environment if you're testing for that. -- Giovanni P. [osol-discuss] X hangs on snv130
Hello, after upgrading to snv130 (from snv129) X hangs on startup. The Xorg process seems stuck. The kernel prints messages like: WARNING: GPU hang detected try to reset ... wait for irq_queue seqno 2, now seqno 1 WARNING: drm_irq_install: irq already enabled WARNING: GPU hang detected try to reset ... wait for irq_queue seqno 2, now seqno 1 WARNING: drm_irq_install: irq already enabled When killing Xorg (have to kill it with SIGKILL) the kernel finally prints out: WARNING: hardware wedged Copying back drm + i915 kernel modules from snv129 helped for me to make X work again. You need to replace the kernel modules /kernel/misc/drm /kernel/drv/i915 for 32 bit kernels, and /kernel/misc/amd64/drm /kernel/misc/amd64/i915 for 64 bit kernels.
