This is something that will need to be looked at by either Jan or Dana. Since
we've exhausted most of what I can think of, I don't know what's wrong with
it. Hopefully one of them can help you.

You cannot get back into the debugger? (F1-A on the keyboard?)

It is currently running Express Build 16 from ~06/05.
I have subsequently tried to install 24,27,28 and now 30 with no luck.

I've tried lots of options includeing seting acpi-enum=off,
acpi-user-options=(2/8). I've ried the installs using PXE/jumpstart,
or DVD.

Symptoms include hanging somewhere during initial boot.
I get past any GRUB menu. Ususally it hangs just after the install
menu is displayed. Several times I have seen the message:

"NOTICE: Unknown notify() event2 on slot #2"

I've booted with the -kd options, and it seems to hang at different
points, and does not come back to the debugger.

Unfortunatley there is not much to touch in the BIOS.
I have upgraded to the latest available from the HP web site.

Does anybody know of any kernel flags to manipulate PCI-E
discovery/enumeration?

[osol-discuss] ACPI PCI-E issues installing on HP NX9600 laptop

2006-01-15 Thread Bruce Riddle

I'm having no luck installing Solaris express on my HP nx9600.

Any suggestions?
