Hello Martin,

Thank you for sharing, it is much appreciated, and I think the new
members will also find it insightful. So the chairs have no objections
to getting the community more involved outside of RIPE meetings?

Hello Martin,

Thanks for sharing, I am still struggling to figure out how the
working group is exactly organized. Could you perhaps create a new
member guide so we can foster and grow the community further together?

[opensource-wg] OpenWrt One: Project Details and Involvement

2024-01-22 Thread Luka Perkov via opensource-wg
Dear RIPE Open Source WG community,

I'm pleased to inform you about a new initiative involving OpenWrt,
spearheaded by John Crispin.

This project, named OpenWrt One, is focused on creating a specialized
wireless networking device aimed at open source software enthusiasts.
It emphasizes educational aspects, compliance with FOSS licenses, and
a rich array of networking features. You can find out more in these
threads:

https://lists.openwrt.org/pipermail/openwrt-devel/2024-January/042018.html
https://lists.openwrt.org/pipermail/openwrt-adm/2024-January/002479.html

Additionally, a portion of the sales revenue from this device will
directly support the OpenWrt project. For more detailed information
and to participate in discussions related to this topic, please
consider subscribing to the relevant OpenWrt mailing lists [1].

Take care,

Luka

Re: [opensource-wg] Welcome the new open source wg co-chair!

2023-12-22 Thread Luka Perkov via opensource-wg
Dear Martin, Marcos, Sasha, Christian and the RIPE Community,

I would like to extend my congratulations to Sasha Romijn on being selected as
the new Co-Chair for the Open Source Working Group. I have no doubt that Sasha
will bring valuable insights and leadership to our community.

I also want to express my gratitude to everyone who engaged in the process,
including those who supported my candidacy. The discussions and feedback have
highlighted the passion and commitment within our community, which is something
we can all be proud of.

The recent selection process has brought to light the need for clearer
guidelines in our processes. I wholeheartedly support the initiative to address
this in our next RIPE meeting and look forward to contributing to this
important discussion. Establishing a transparent and inclusive process is
crucial for our community’s integrity and future progress.

I remain passionately committed to the RIPE community and am dedicated to being
an active, constructive member. I am at the disposal of the chairs should my
assistance or input be needed. It is through our collective efforts, diverse
perspectives, and shared goals that we will continue to drive the growth and
success of the OSS Working Group, and I am eager to contribute to our
community's continued development and success.

Once again, congratulations to Sasha, and thank you to the chairs and community
members for your dedication and involvement.

Warm regards,

Luka Perkov
