it may be due to some configuration errors or also due to lack of physical
resources (servers which host compute nodes). It happened to me with less
h/w resources on compute.

you need to expose the VM's internal network to an external network by
allocating it floating IP address.

Re: [Openstack] [Nova] How To Print Console OutPut Dynamically

2013-04-07 Thread Pranav
I may be thinking totally wrong but I think that if you want to do a small
hack which calls the same method/api (every x seconds) which is called to
display the console log message on horizon dash. But I cant say this will
work or even if this does, whether it is a good hack or not.

Re: [Openstack] Unable to successfully create instances with horizon

2013-04-05 Thread Pranav
Hi, First of all congratulations on your progress.

I believe that you have to access your VNC from the same network that your
VNC Proxy has been configured on. I believe that this is not related to the
fact that your Server Node is a VM instance itselves.
What I do is for Host Only Connections configure one of the hosts networks
such that it matches the one with the VNC proxy or for bridged networks its
pretty much similar to how it is actually done.

there is a problem with Quantum Network you need to use L2 and L3 agents.
Or Nova-Networks.

Re: [Openstack] Unable to successfully create instances with horizon

2013-03-16 Thread Pranav
Hi,

I have a similar setup and I spawn Nova Instances inside OpenStack deployed
on VirtuaBox VM instances. Make sure that your VM's are configured to Qemu
and not KVM as KVM will not work inside VM's. Also check this out it has
complete steps to setup OpenStack on VM's.

Re: [Openstack] using vlan tagged ports in cluster

It is common to loose your network in 3 NIC setup that is why the third NIC
card, its ok if you cant ping your public IP directly. But this work around
wont hurt either. This work around has been implemented in two nic VLAN
method in the same git repo.

Re: [Openstack] Google Summer of Code

2013-03-13 Thread Pranav
Hi,
I don't know weather I'm qualified for being a mentor (ill be graduating
this summer). But I have my project which Ill be officially done with this
summer (Before Google summer code starts) and would love to know if its a
good idea and if I could take it further and make it more professional.
This can be a good start-up idea for Google Summer Code.

Here is the existing repository. I plan to implement a unique system for
backup, storage using GIT(PaaS and IaaS) and OpenStack(IaaS).
https://github.com/organizations/cloud-rack
Note: This project is work in progress and may have some mistakes.
Regards,
Pranav

Re: [Openstack] Problem starting a VM

2013-02-05 Thread Pranav
I believe that you have broken your configuration files. Please do make
sure that your nova confi files are proper. I had similar issue where in i
had to change the libvirt option to QEMU because some KVM issue and the
images started spawning.
