Re: [openstack-dev] [Neutron][LBaaS] Subteam meeting Thursday, 05/08 14-00 UTC

2014-05-08 Thread Vijay Venkatachalam

Excellent documentation. Thanks once again!

I see the VIP creation is documented as a POST to the following URL
http://client.url.com/v2.0/neutron/lbaas/vips

I think the VIP should be outside the purview of LBaaS and remain in general
neutron. Today an IP gets reserved as part of creation of a neutron port.

Are you proposing to give an indirection for IP reservation? For ex. the above
API will ultimately create a neutron port in the background?

Thanks,
Vijay V.

Re: [openstack-dev] [Neutron][LBaaS] Subteam meeting Thursday, 05/08 14-00 UTC

2014-05-07 Thread Stephen Balukoff
Hi folks,

It's late, so I of course am not going to mind if y'all haven't had a
chance to review these before the meeting, but here are my additions:

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1m3XXd98_pnYGxS3ubw7NMmxs2dxi__c-TzRiHykNpyU/edit?usp=sharing

Note that I've only written up the same use cases that the RAX team
answered (1-10 and 14).

I've not generated as much detailed information as the RAX team (great job
with that, guys!), but I have tried to include enough information for a
person trying to meet the use case to know how to go about doing it using
the Blue Box edit of Rackspace's original API proposal.

So, having gone through this exercise I definitely have a few thoughts and
trepidations about our API proposal review thus far that I will be sharing
in another thread (as I imagine it will spawn some discussion). Expect to
see that e-mail later tonight.

Stephen

This will be the last meeting before the summit, so I suggest we will focus
on the agenda for two
design track slots we have.

Per my experience design tracks are not very good for in-depth discussion,

need core team attention like interaction with Barbican and such.

Another item for the meeting will be comparison of API proposals which as
