[openstack-dev] [cinder] Weekly Meeting Back-on 11/15/2017 ...

2017-11-14 Thread Jay S Bryant

Team,

Just a reminder that we will now return to our regularly scheduled
weekly Cinder meetings starting 11/15/2017.

I hope you all enjoyed a little break and thank you to whoever updated
the etherpad for 11/8.  :-)

An important reminder to everyone in the US (and possibly elsewhere)
that the meeting is now an hour earlier due to Daylight Savings Time
kicking in.  So, please check your calendars and make sure to join at
the right time.

Please update the etherpad with your topics! [1]

Thanks!

Jay

Re: [openstack-dev] [cinder] weekly meeting

2013-12-18 Thread Duncan Thomas
04:00 or 05:00 UTC would basically preclude European participation for
most people... that's 4 am for Dosaboy and myself for example.

Alternating meetings on different weeks would probably work, though we
would need to encourage people to get stuff on the agenda in advance
rather than an hour before the meeting, so that people can send their
comments ahead if they can't attend.

 Hi All,

Prompted by a recent suggestion from Tom Fifield, I thought I'd gauge
some interest in either changing the weekly Cinder meeting time, or
proposing a second meeting to accomodate folks in other time-zones.

A large number of folks are already in time-zones that are not
friendly to our current meeting time. I'm wondering if there is
enough of an interest to move the meeting time from 16:00 UTC on
Wednesdays, to 04:00 or 05:00 UTC? Depending on the interest I'd be
willing to look at either moving the meeting for a trial period or
holding a second meeting to make sure folks in other TZ's had a chance
 to be heard.

Let me know your thoughts, if there are folks out there that feel
unable to attend due to TZ conflicts and we can see what we might be
 able to do.

 Thanks,
 John

For me, 4/5 is currently 6/7AM. An hour later when daylight savings
messes things up. Exactly wake up/get ready/kid to school/me to work
time.
I'd rather leave it as is (6/7PM depending on daylight savings).
If you alternate, I may have to miss some.

Thanks,

John,

I am flexible.

I am fine with trying to move the time to 04:00 or 05:00 UTC or we can
alternate. The one concern with alternation is that it may lead to
confusion and less attendance, but I am certainly open to trying it.

Let me know your thoughts, if there are folks out there that feel
unable to attend due to TZ conflicts and we can see what we might be
  able to do.

  Thanks,
  John

 Hi Chaochin,

Thanks for the feedback, I think the alternate time would have to be
moved up an hour or two anyway (between the lunch hour in your TZ and
the fact that it just moves the problem of being at midnight to the
folks in US Eastern TZ). Also, I think if there is interest that a
better solution might be to implement something like the Ceilometer
team does and alternate the time each week.

 John
