Hello team, We've talked about a few times in our channels about a bug smash.
I think it's time to do it: - We have 9 bugs triaged as highly important - We have 21 bugs of medium importance - We have 30 bugs classified as low. That's 60 bugs we've agreed to fix, ranging from "when convenient" to "hey, we should do it very much... now", which is probably enough for having bug smash session(s). So, I'll freeze two of my afternoons to fix what I can, and I'd be happy if you could join me in the effort. Here are two weeks that would fit best for the bug smash, IMO (see also pike schedule, [2]): - Aug 14 - Aug 18 (after RC and after our feature freeze) - Sep 04 - Sep 08 (just after our RC and after our other projects releases, just before the PTG/our release deadline) I'd be happy if you could vote on the doodle here [1] to show your availability. If we have extra time on the Sep 04-Sep 08, we could also talk about our 54 wishlist bugs, because we'll have these in mind when bringing ideas at the PTG. For the technical details, I think we should gather at least online. I have a meeting room (zoom, a skype-like thing) we could all join, which makes it more friendly. Alternatively, if there is an organisation willing to host the bug smash in their offices, please come forward. I think the only requirement would be to have a meeting room system where the participants can join remotely if they can't join physically. Sorry for the long mail and thank you in advance.
